haha...fully agreed...think I posted this story before...happened back in 2014/5...but never mind post again for bro icycold...

one night around 1am 3 cong an came to my hotel room and knock...surprised to hear knocks as I was sleeping...so I open the door with the chain hook on...and ask what happened...the 3 cong an spoke said they wanted to look at my room to ensure I am safe...so I call to hotel recept before opening and the recept said routing inspection...so I open the door as I was alone...one pretty cong an lady came with 2 guys...so the guy walked in and the pretty cong an spoke to me...the 3 cong an went on to inspect other rooms...

Complete new airport’s feasibility study soon, Deputy PM orders

Feasibility reports for the Long Thanh Airport’s first phase must be submitted to the parliament next year, the Ministry of Transport has been told.

In an announcement released by the Government Office, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung also asked relevant ministries and the Dong Nai People’s Committee to work on ensuring optimal connections between transport infrastructure systems in and out of the future airport.

He told the Ministry of Construction to work with Dong Nai authorities on zoning areas adjacent to the airport for developing urban areas and industrial areas.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was asked to complete its appraisal of the project’s environment impact report and work with Dong Nai authorities to resolve land clearance issues.

It is planned that the Long Thanh International Airport will be built in three phases over three decades. The first part is scheduled for completion in 2025, at the end of which the new airport will be able to handle 25 million passengers a year. The next two phases will run from 2030 to 2035 and from 2040 to 2050.

Regarding expansion of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC, Dung ordered the transport ministry to scrutinize use of land at the airport to be earmarked for commercial, defense and security purposes.

Since the Tan Son Nhat airport is a civilian airport that can serve military purposes when needed, the ministry has also been asked to reach consensus with the defence ministry on the land area required for expanding the airport as well as on areas to be earmarked for civilian and defense dual use.

Dung instructed the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to work with the transport ministry to review and finalize airport-related transport infrastructure plans to ensure optimal road use and exploitation while meeting environmental protection goals.

Spyware attacks half a million plus computers in Vietnam

As many as 560,000 computers in Vietnam have been infected with a spyware called BrowserSpy, and more attacks are expected.

The spyware, which aims to gather information about a person or organization sometimes without their knowledge, and may send such information to another entities without the consumer's consent, started to spread in Vietnam since early July, according to Vietnam's leading cyber security firm BKAV.

It can read emails, view browsing history, and steal personal information such as passwords and bank accounts.

The spyware is hidden in fake software that hackers put on the Internet and tricks users to download it onto their computers.

Once triggered, the software will install a plug-in in consumers’ Internet browsers to keep track of their online activities or even update and download more malware that can attack their computers.

Vu Ngoc Son, deputy head at BKAV’s anti malware department, said it is very difficult for users to find out if their computers have been infected with BrowserSpy spyware because it makes no difference to the computers’ functions.

To deal with this situation, users should update their computers with the latest security software to detect the virus and should not download new software from unguaranteed sources, he said.

Vietnam banks warn of scam calls and emails for credit card info

Several banks in Vietnam have warned customers about credit card info being stolen using scam emails or phone calls.

The warnings have been issued in the light of recent reports in which customers have received emails and phone calls, supposedly from the police or even the banks themselves, asking for personal information, including credit card and card verification numbers.

Thanh of HCMC recently received an email from the Vietnam Prosperity Bank (VPBank) asking for her name, home address and password to gain access to her bank account.

“These are all private information of card holders, so there’s no reason why the bank would email us to ask for them,” she said.

Thu, 68, from the central province of Quang Ngai, recently received a phone call from a man who claimed to be working for the police who said she was suspected of being part of a drug trafficking ring in Hanoi. Thu was asked to provide all information regarding the money she had stored in banks, and to transfer an undisclosed amount of money to an unknown account for a “lesser sentence.”

“I panicked and intended to do what they said at first, but then I thought, if I was staying home all day, how can I be involved in a drug trafficking ring? So I calmed down and said that I would discuss this further with my son before calling back.” No other call came after that incident.

In response to such news, the Maritime Bank has told its customers that banks would never require personal information from customers, for example bank account numbers, PIN, Internet Banking usernames or passwords. It also warned customers that any email or phone calls requiring them to provide such info are scams.

Additionally, customers should be wary of phone numbers beginning with +31385 or +36022, as they are most likely to do with staged kidnappings to demand ransom.

The HCMC branch of the State Bank of Vietnam has also asked all banks to reassess their internal control processes, issue warning to customers and alert the police about potential scam cases.

In Thanh’s case, VPBank immediately rechecked its systems and sent out warnings to other customers not to provide their account info to any other entities. The bank has also pledged to develop countermeasures to prevent future cases from happening.

Nope, is the immigration officer and wearing similar to Police cong an uniform except the insignia on color is diff...



Custom and excise officers wear diff uniforms...white color...

in Vietnam...there is provincial Police and district Police...district police station always very crowded with ppl making all knids of reports...

every day b4 11pm all hotels must submit their list of clients to the district Police...

every household hv foreigners staying also must report to district Police within a week...
