Because if it means a credit card issued in Malaysia, Bro Funzio wouldn't have to worry about the exchange rate. The credit card should be denominated in RM.

For my latest grocery shopping trip in JB, I used my CIMB Singapore credit card and still had to wait for a few days before the transaction was finalised on my account. Sadly, the floating charge was calculated at 2.56+ and the final charge was calculated at 2.50+

I think he meant Debit cards. All credit cards will ding dong here & there before the banks finalize the transactions but for debit cards the amount is deducted immediately and recorded as such so you are billed on that day's interbank rate.
You will earn on the better exchange rate but lose on the fees so it kind of evens out.... unless your card is a preferential one with fees waived.

Lobang for those who are interested. Go to the NTUC foodfare kopitiam in Boon Lay Place early every morning. There is an unofficial exchange market there as those Malaysian workers coming into Singapore need some Sing dollars and are willing to trade their ringgits for dollars. You can bargain with them on the rate and usually it is better than the moneychangers.

Last week the market rate was 2.55 but these workers were willing to trade their ringgits at 2.60

Do note you have to catch them early as they need to leave for their workplace after breakfast.

Did you went to the correct interchange?
It is NOT the Woodlands Interchange with the MRT station but at the OLD Woodlands Interchange located at Woodlands Central Drive
