Little brother here need some advice. Let me tell my story first.

Have not been to Shanghai for 3 years liao. was there on Monday morning and left on Tuesday afternoon. Monday nite, 11pm, went to Tar Lu Road, a series of bar. walked into one, ordered beer and the waitress also asked if can sit down. Of course I said can and bought her beer too. Bar got only 2 customers, the other is a guai-lao who also sitting with another girl. There are about 6 girls working in that bar.

As usual, since I not lau-tar in Shanghai, I behave and kept hands to myself and not turned into octopus. soon the rest of the girls crowded around me and i bought the drinks (1 each) and i was doing palm reading and magic show. Later the girls asked for another drink, I politely said NO and explain to them that I am actually quite poor, just an engineer.

by 2.30am, i was only customer at the bar and still chatting with the first girl that sat down with me, her name Julie. She and her room mate invited me for supper and they also explain that they are paying for supper. I paid for the drinks, comes to only RMB320 and we left.

We went, 3 of us, eat and drink until 4am. then i pretend a bit drunk and request Julie send me back to hotel, she agreed. Yes, bro... What happened to you has happened to me before too. It isn't always necessary to pay for gals in Shanghai. ONS is a pretty common thing to most gals who cheong the night scene here. I believe Julie was charmed by you. You might think you're old and ugly but obviously Julie didn't think so. You're right to advise caution ... this is the case wherever we are and not only in Shanghai. Point to all this is go with open eyes and ears.. Maybe Julie just likes you, it happens.
Points for all bros out there "cheonging" , just a reminder that its the season for HC/Massage centre/KTV and Hotel raids. Normally there are also undercover people who are watching for single guys/gals going into hotels together that "looks" suspicious ( like me 40yo guy with a 20 yo gal) and they will follow you in. Messy part is you need someone (normally your boss) to bail you out later if caught. Just be a bit more cautious. Things will cool down as autumn/winter comes. The guys say its because the situation is getting a bit out of control in these places and bosses (maybe their wives) are asking a lot of questions.
