One of my close friends married a PRC. His ex wife was a local girl who slept with a few men who were wealthier and obviously not interested in long term with her. I went to the hospital to visit him when he had an accident but all I saw was his PRC mistress tending to his every need. She even excused herself when we arrived to allow him some 'bro' time with us. He told us his wife never turn up despite being informed of his accident 3 days ago. Only his PRC mistress turned up after she knocked off from work. I heard she's working as some senior engineer or something like that. My friend makes lesser and rides a motorcycle. But she never mind that fact and kept riding on his motorcycle. Defintely wife material. His wife just tasted him like a spare tyre. Got married because my friend stupidly proposed. His wife eventually dumped him for a white man who promised to Marry her. The last i heard of him was he married his prc and had a child with her. Bumped into him last year at a car owner's gathering and his son was already primary school. His wife was still the prc mistress i met in the hospital that day. Many of the other guys whom we are still in touch with couldn't believe his prc gf can be so faithful.

I second that.....I have been worked in PRC for some years and recently went on quite a few business trips there.

I think we need to change our thinking, these days PRC girls have a lot of choices went it comes to relationships and marriage.

Singapore PR or citizenship no longer really appeals to them, I have a lot of my PRC ex-colleagues going back after a few years here, some of the ladies I dated (and bedded ) married very well to fellow PRCs.

Still I continue to say this, it depends from where did you know the PRC girl from, and more importantly how is she as a person. These are the factors that will determine your outcome with her I guess

Well, its always stories about PRCs that get spread around, but if you dig around more, there are also many stories with local girls as well. One main difference is that maybe PRCs are more in your face with complaints, while locals tend to be abit more subtle.

And foreign wifes always have a back door to go home and forget everything, so divorce is always an option, whereas locals, for the sake of reputation, may stay married but live seperate lives. So official statistics don’t really mean anything.

End of the day, always think hard & long about who you want to be with, regardless of nationality, and consider every factor honestly

If one are sincere about getting into serious relationship with a PRC or whatever nationality, first and foremost , get to know the person further , family's and such .
Don't ever rush things , take your time getting to know her and if possible cohabit is another good way to better understand each other , quite often living together can find out a person secrets , the person true well being and behavior .

I got a childhood friend , had been dating her girlfriend for 6 , 7 years , then they decide to marry . after 3 days of married and living together as husband and wife , they went separate ways , divorce . 3 days as husband and wife after 6,7 years of dating .

Yea, sometimes its good that your partner be 现实 in your face, at least you know what to expect. Rather than the subtle treatment, you know, the usual 'nothing wrong' answer when they show the face for something you didn't do(buy) etc.

I have seen my fair share of friends marrying locals only for things to turn ugly, sometimes really really quick. They dated for almost 10 years, and the wife regretted right after the wedding dinner.

One other friend, dated 3 years, accepted proposal and engaged, started to grumble when he can only afford a decent 4 rm HDB somewhere she didnt like, and within 1 year, ended things.

Bro, I have just separated and going to head for a irreversible divorce soon. For ladies requirements are,
1) you need to have stable career and income of at least 2.5k take home pay
2) you need to a accommodation in Singapore, a hdb flat or at least a room with both of you and your prospective partner
3) you need to find out what is her point of view when comes to money management. Is she a money spender or a non contributor such as a tai tai to building of relationship towards a family unit. Will she work and save money with you and stay with you for a future plan? Is she transparent in her spending when sharing or using money? Will she be willing to spend time with you etc
4) Is her character difficult and demanding that you have a hard time with her? Is there a character mismatch between both of you that you will end up in conflict?
5) How do both of you manage when resolving conflicts? She maybe hellish sexy and beautiful, good bed skills etc but you have to end up slaving to keep up to her whims and unreasonable demands. Is it worth it? No. And mutual respect is very important
6) you need a woman who really put your feelings into consideration with mutual respect and love
7) You need to be transparent in your ablity to provide her and give her accommodation to stay. If she feels uncomfortable, there is no point continuation no matter how painful it seems. If a woman willing to go through with you. You are lucky. Both must have common goals in future plan and need to set aside savings.
