Hi all brothers,

I had read all the fabulous FR and really fantasty about what all our sg bro are doing in SH. Currently, I am planning to go to SH in May for:

1. Expose myself to the SH
2. Look for opportunities
3. and of course enjoy some really good SH gals...

The list are no in all order of preference... haahaha


Any recommendation on accomodation, opportunities (business or gals)....

I truly believed that all bros here in Shanghai or any where else in PRC are dead serious in biz dealings.
having the fun all mentioned here are merely just 'ECAs' activities which we al have....

As u mentioned herewith on setting up a pub in Kunshan, it's really a matter of where about u want it to be. As we all knew that Kunshan houses many Taiwanese community there so the locality of where u want to situate your pub is very critical. Next on the list for your consideration is the initial rental downpayment which is a big bulk of your initial investment. The local common practice is here is 3+3 or 3+2 months (3 months deposit + 2 or 3 months advance rental payment upfront), depending on your Lease Terms with the landlord. Be sure to be prepared with that bulk payment on the initial part of your set-up here which alot of foreign investors are not prepared for. Rental rates locally are charged by USD$ or RMB daily rates per day basis x total floor area x 365 days divide by 12 months = monthly rental.
As with regards to commercial premises, the floor area stipulated on the Lease Contract is the actual usable nett area & not any Gross floor area which include other public areas as practised by Residential premises so do take note on that.

Also, with the recent & still on-going hype on China's market boom, it will be alot of competitions one will face in the F&B biz here.

Last but not least, getting the public entertainment license & liquor license is also a big challenge! Having the right connections with the local authorities, Police, etc shall get one smoothly thru with all applications.....so do ensure that your local contacts are pretty sound & trustworthy on that matter.

As long as u r prepared for all these above-mentioned matters, then welcome to China & wishes u all success in your coming biz endeavours!

1st of all, a warm welcome to Shanghai!
As u mentioned here, exposing yourself to Shanghai....hmmmm??? What do mean by the term 'exposing'? Exposing to all the fun actvities as all bros mentioned as well as biz opportunities perhaps? What trade or industry r u in?

What kinda of accomodation recoomendations u have in mind? Short trem? U can try calling +8621 63168 168 (Motel 168). They offer very well managed rooms at a mere RMB 298 nett with bed on a split-level. Barnd new hotel chain yet very nice environment & clean. Their best located hotel presmise near town is on An Yuan Road, near by the junction Chang Shou Road. Do mention the locality of the hotel u want to stay when u call otherwise u will end staying very far from town as they have other locality that are situated very far.

Lst but not least, the 'fun' activities. Do read thru as many threads & postings all bros posted here & u will be able to move around seeking all fun u want to have in Shanghai. It's very safe here, so not to worry too much on public law & order.

I am not into any particular trade but looking into any possible trade available to me.. Expose mean to really feel the pulse and probably try to get develop my network there. It would be hard job if without any help from old bird....Currently, my resources is not high so probably need a simple and reasonable price accomdoation. I will keep the contact of motel 168 which is very help to me...

Of course the fun part is just a mere CCA (they dun call it ECA anymore..hahaha.. only old people like us will know what is ECA). I had already got lot of information from this thread that had already cross the milestone of 200 pages ( that is lot of material to digest).

anw since u mentioned motel 168, actually would the 1 in An Yuan road or the nearby 1 at Au Men road be better located? bcos the 1 at Au Men road seems to be nearer the MRT station so shld be busier n more convenient for eating etc??

thinking of going to shanghai frequently but always cant find a gd place to stay... last time i went a month back no choice stayed at a motel 168 in pudong wah kao quite far from everything.

Hi Guys...just returned from SH and have greatly benefitted from this forum. Posting my virgin post today to "hui kui she hui".


Five day trip...stayed at Pacific Luck Hotel...3 star but just renovated with 4 star furnishing. Clean and nice place room. Suite cost about 700rmb.

Spent 3 night at Ming Men KTV and called the mms Li wei, told them recommended by friend and was treated very well, told me all prices upfront, no surprise billings etc. About 400 gals on duty at any one night and quality quite good, gals there very pro at getting you emotionally hooked so pls be careful for newbies cheongsters.

Went twice to HC in hotel next door. Hengshen Penisular Hotel. 750rmb for set meal. Excellent service and ambience. Gals very shockingly pretty and seems to be built for pleasure. Cheong many years liao and one of the best bong here....

Overall, best experience in China after been to places like xiamen, guangzhou, kunming and donguan. Feel very safe to walk around even in the late evenings, early mornings.

Still, be careful when u're alone. Cheers.
