You can see that all these goals are very different and your training regimen will be very different depending on how you define “toning”. If by toning you mean that you want to get a little stronger and a little leaner, then lift weights a little and do a little cardio ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talking about DNA and genetics, it doesn't matter unless you've reached your genetic potential, ie you can't grow bigger by increasing weights. No offense but to me, using genetics as an excuse for not working out for a healthier and younger physique is lazy. Working out not only improves your aesthetic appearance, it also improves your inner body functions. Win-win situation here with only 1 hour a day. That's only 4% of your day. And the return on capital is rewarding

Educational.
I don't touch weights except when I need it to complement the sports that I am doing. For speed and power. I need explosiveness more than strength. So it is usually light or mid weights with more reps for different sets. I wanna train to be like Bruce Lee !!! Lol. Don't hit the gym these days. Game has changed as you aged. I use my head more than I use my brawn. Not matter how hard I train, I can never beat the atheletism of someone younger. The reflexes and the flexibility is just not what it used to be. |

Explosive is a series of contractions of many body parts. Its a whole package, like muai thai, you punch explosive, but it need strength, the repeated punching and elbow need stamina. Explosive but no power, its like a girl massaging your back. The guy will laugh at you. But you got strength if u throw 1 punch and you are out of breathe, its no use too.
