Do you believe in Spirits ???
This incident happened to me 24 years ago in a village 4-5 hours drive from chiangmai. I was visiting my teerak in her village and one night my thai friend invited me to his house for a drinking session. We drank until about 2am. Feeling tipsy already, I decided to call it a night. Halfway walking home, I suddenly feel the urge to pee. While I was peeing, suddenly I felt a strange chill of wind blowing against me. I shivered a little but thought that was just a normal reaction when a chill wind blow against you. How wrong I was. In fact this is just the start of my 10 days supernatural experience........
That night, reached home nothing unusual happened. Brushed my teeth and went to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and started to feel very cold. I called out to my teerak ( who was cooking in the kitchen) and told her why I suddenly felt so cold. She covered me with a blanket and went back to continue her cooking. A few minutes later I felt a sudden surge of heat going through my body. This time I felt very hot and immediately pulled away the blanket. I called out to her again and she came to me and ask what was wrong with me. I told her I felt very hot this time. She touched my forehead and said there was nothing wrong with me but I told her I really felt very hot. She switched on the fan for me and I really felt much better. She then said she will bring me to the village clinic to see the doctor later.
That morning,we went to the village clinic and consult the doctor. He took my temperature and said there was nothing with me and so we went back home. Later that afternoon, I suddenly felt like vomitting and the hot later cold feeling came again, only this time it was double the pain. I also starting to feel very weak that I couldnt even have the energy to stand. I lied on my bed and suffered the hot / cold process for the next few hours. My teerak started to panicked leow.......
She rushed to her best friend house and told her about my situation. She said that we should go the city hospital and seek a second opinion from the doctors there and she will ask her husband to drive us there. So off we went to the hospital and it was about more than a hour journey.
At the hospital, the doctor conduct some tests on me and I spent a few hours there waiting for the results. Results showed that nothing was wrong with me and even the doctors were puzzled by my condition. We were told to go back as there was nothing they could do for me.
That night, the same thing happened again only this time it was worse. I started having this pain , like there was a million ants biting my body. I couldnt take it anymore and was shouting like hell when I felt the pain coming. My teerak was so panicky and worried that she was in tears now.
Something unusual happened that night, after my teerak was in tears, I realised the pain was gone and that night it was back to normal again although I can felt that I was getting weaker and weaker.
The next morning the same thing repeated again. I woke up feeling very weak I couldnt even get up by myself this time. I heard my teerak talking with some of the villagers who have come to enquire what happened last night. Guess they must have heard my shouting and come to check what actually happened. A few of the elderly villagers came into the room to have a look at me. One villager said that he know someone who might be able to help. It turn out that this someone is actually a "ghost doctor " or "mor pii" as the villagers called her. As I was already too weak to travel to another village, the villager said it okay for me not to go personally. My teerak just have to bring the necessary items , thats all. Turn out it were a pair of my shirt, my comb, a mirror and some flowers....
So off they went that morning to see the "ghost doctor"....turn out that she is actually a very old woman in her eighties staying in a old hut made of bamboos. She used the items that my teerak brought along and place it in front of a dirty old pot containing some dirty water. Then she lighted a candle, hold it above the pot and started chanting some prayers in a very strange language (my teerak also dun understand), letting the candle wax drip into the pot.
After the chanting stopped, she told my teerak that I have offended a wandering spirit and that spirit is now in my body taking revenge. The spirit is only willing to let me go if I do something for him in return.....
The "ghost doctor" also said that I have actually offended the " spirit " by peeing on him while he was resting there. She can even pinpoint the location where I pee on that night!!
She also said that this spirit is a villager who was killed in a motorcycle accident nearby a few months back. According to my teerak, this is also true !! Come to think of it, now I think I know why it stop disturbing me when teerak was in tears that night. Maybe he pity my teerak but he still do not want to let me go yet, not until he get something from me. Okay back to the story...what he actually want is for the next 7 days , he want a meal consisting rice wine, cigarettes, glutinous rice and " lup jin " beef( mince raw beef ) to be placed at the same spot where I pee on that night. Only then will he let me go.
So the next morning, my teerak quickly prepared the meal and place it at the same spot. True enough on the 7th day itself after my teerak have placed the last meal on the spot, by evening time I have recovered so much that I could even go jogging. I even went to the that spot to apologize and thank him for letting me go.....end of story thanks for reading..... good night .
