August is an excellent time to visit XCD. The sun is great and the beach is fine. However, if you are 'unlucky' you might a typhoon which will make you stranded on the island as the boat/ferry will stop operation during a typhoon warning of T3 and above. So be prepared to stay a day or two if there is a typhoon.

Hard to predict nowadays the weather. Do check the weather forcast before you go.
