Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Clinical performance. Somehow feels like a stroll at times. The team is getting into form after worrying performances during the draws with Aston Villa and Everton. Diaz looks refreshed. TAA's defending is still touch and go.

I was watching the Arsenal match too since they started 45 minutes before our match. Not that impressive. Very hard for them to catch up. They probably will focus more on CL moving ahead

I was really happy with the performance and win.

We stretched our lead to 13 points. Another 6 more Wins will be good enough.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Well done Arne Slot and his Red Men for getting over 5 tough games over just 15 days with 11 points from 15 points, great going, now go take a well earned rest guys

Must say though looks like a bit of good fortune is coming our way...first Haaland out for the City game and then Isak out for the Newcastle game...hope to see the same kind of good fortune continue in Paris next Weds against PSG

As for Arteta, he said before the Forest game "over my dead body" with regards giving up on the title race but now he seems like a dead man walking, might need to call an undertaker to collect a "dead body" from the Emirates soon

Arsenal has a game in hand and another game against us in 10th May (anfield). I am just thinking of it as a 10 point lead. The commentator said Liverpool set a record in 2019/20 by winning the league with 7 games to spare. Don't think this record will be broken this year.

I was quite worried about our performance against Everton, Wolves and Aston Villa. We looked tired. Gravenbech, Diaz and Konate were like half a step slower. Since then, Arne Slot changed our strategy. We parked the bus against Man City and played a 4-4 (diamond)-2. The counter attacking game worked. Against Newcastle, we played somewhat similarly with the counter attacking strategy and didn't keep trying to win back the ball. It worked. Don't forget this morning's match is a rehearsal for the cup final. Pity Isak didn't play. We then to buy players who played well against us... like Darwin Nunez

We are in a sweet spot now. Only 4 matches in the entire month of March. 7 days of rest before the PSG game. Then we meet the 20th placed Southampton at home. I think we can afford to rotate and rest players like Mcallister, Gravenbech, Szobozlai. At least limit their playing time to 45 or 60 minutes in this match. Then we play PSG at home before heading to the cup final.

Arsenal and Newcastle cannot rest their best players (unlike us) because Arsenal is chasing us while Newcastle is chasing CL qualification. All these heavy workload will affect these teams during the business end of the season (May) when the biggest trophies are decided.

Given that football fans then to have short term memories , this has been an interesting season for us. Just a summary about our season. We have a run of 10 crazy games that started with an away match at Old Trafford. 3-0 victory for us

Our victory there caused them to sack their manager. A manager whom they gave $200 million pounds to spend in the summer of 2024. (Leny Yoro £52m, Matthijs de Ligt £45m, Joshua Zirkzee £36m, Noussair Mazraoui £15m, Sekou Kone £1m, Manuel Ugarte £51m). Most of these players can't play in the new system set by Amorim. Talk about panic.

I am writing about this because I wished we had their $200 million pounds budget though. De Ligt is VVD's international CB partner. We never replaced Matip, wanted to sell Joe Gomez too and we were going through a big injury crisis back then. Allison, Jota, Konate, TAA and a few others were out with injuries. I mean fans of our competitors complained about stingy owners and how other teams benefited from their injury crisis (esp Arsenal fans). We only signed a Chiesa whom we hardly used.

2 Nov: Home Vs Brighton
5 Nov: Home Vs Leverkusen (against Alonso)
9 Nov: Home Vs Aston Villa
International Break
23 Nov: Away Vs Southampton
27 Nov: Home against Real Madrid
30 Nov: Home against Man City.

Our PL games before and after the CL games are damn tough (except Southampton). Villa is a CL team now. Brighton is a good team. Chelsea's form is super good or super bad.
I know we took 11 points out of our last 5 matches but don't forget we had these 10 crazy games this season too with a thin squad. Started with away match at Old Trafford as mentioned earlier. Basically 3 sets of (3 games over 7 days) against tough opponents. Still very surprised we did so well over these 10 games to finish 1st in the table in PL and CL.

1 key aspect of our season that most of us didn't notice is this statistic. Our competition minutes is calculated as.. 11 units (players) X time (90 minutes plus extra time X (number of games) = total playing time.

Our academy graduates contributed 17% of total playing time and this is the highest among all 20 PL teams. Kelleher, Bradley, TAA, Joe Gomez (i think qualify), Quansah, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot.. Danns (got play for us in PL?)

Im summary (because fans have short term memories), if we did win the league this year, we didn't buy our way through ah. 1 signing in Chiesa only leh plus never sign replacement for Matip. We didn't get lucky with injuries (don't forget our injury crisis a few months back). We didn't get lucky with fixtures as shown. We didn't win the league with an established team too (our manager and his support team is totally changed). Man City and Arsenal's management team are there for years already. We also spent the entire season talking about how the core members of this team will likely leave after this season (normally this creates chaos).

Man City won their case against EPL though. The EPL rules is against EU law. EPL is likely to be sued by many clubs as a result

No way!

MC only won one that is "unlawful sponsorship".

There are many other charges yet to announce.
