Thumbs down From hero to zero. Any bros can help?

I never thought I'd end up like this. Just a year ago, I was on top of the world. Now, I'm sitting in my HDB flat, staring at the walls, wondering how it all went so wrong.

It started when I got into crypto back in 2020. I was working as a software engineer at a fintech startup, and everyone was talking about Bitcoin and Ethereum. I thought, why not give it a shot? I started small, just putting in a few hundred dollars here and there. But then, I got lucky. Really lucky.

I caught the DeFi wave early. Yield farming, liquidity pools, you name it. I was in it all. My initial investment of $10,000 turned into $100,000 in just a few months. I couldn't believe it. I was checking my wallet every hour, watching the numbers go up and up.

By early 2021, I had quit my job. Why work for someone else when I could make more money trading crypto? I was making six figures a month, easy. My portfolio hit $1 million in July. I remember the moment exactly - I was sitting at a hawker center, eating char kway teow, when I refreshed my Metamask and saw all those zeros. I almost choked on my noodles.

That's when things started to change. I moved out of my parents' place and rented a condo in Tanjong Pagar. Started buying designer clothes, eating at fancy restaurants. I felt like I had made it. All those years of studying hard, working long hours - it had finally paid off.

But the thing about sudden wealth is, it changes you. And not always for the better. I started hanging out at Clarke Quay every weekend, splashing cash like it was nothing. $500 bottles of whiskey? Sure, why not? I was living the high life, and I loved it.

That's where I met Jasmine. She was gorgeous - long black hair, perfect skin, legs that went on forever. She said she was a model, and I believed her. Why wouldn't I? She was interested in me, laughing at my jokes, touching my arm. I felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

We started dating, if you could call it that. Fancy dinners, weekend trips to Bali, shopping sprees at MBS. I bought her a Rolex for her birthday. She was always talking about investments, how her rich friends were making millions. I should have seen the red flags, but I was blinded by her beauty and the constant flow of alcohol.

One night, after too many drinks at Ce La Vi, she told me about this amazing investment opportunity. Her "uncle" was starting a crypto project that was guaranteed to 10x in a month. All I had to do was send my crypto to a specific wallet, and I'd get tokens that would make me rich beyond my wildest dreams.

I hesitated at first. But Jasmine was persuasive. She said she was putting in her own money too. And in my drunken, infatuated state, I thought, "Why not? I'm already rich. This could make me set for life."

So I did it. I transferred everything. One million dollars worth of crypto, gone in a single transaction. Jasmine said we should celebrate, so we went back to my place and... well, you can imagine.

The next morning, I woke up with a pounding headache and an empty bed. Jasmine was gone. I tried calling her, but her number was disconnected. I checked the wallet I had sent my crypto to - empty. That's when the reality hit me like a ton of bricks. I had been scammed.

I spent the next few weeks in a daze. I couldn't believe how stupid I had been. I tried to track down Jasmine, but it was like she never existed. Her Instagram was deleted, her friends claimed they didn't know her. I filed a police report, but they said there wasn't much they could do. Crypto scams were too common, too hard to trace.

That's when the real problems started. In my quest to get rich quick, I had borrowed money from some... less than reputable sources. Loan sharks, to be blunt. They had been happy to lend to me when I was flush with cash. Now that I was broke, they wanted their money back. With interest.

I sold everything I could. My designer clothes, my watch collection, even my car. But it wasn't enough. The debt kept growing, and the threats became more serious. They painted my door red, left dead animals outside my flat. I was terrified to leave my house.

I tried to get back into crypto trading, but the market had turned. Everything I touched seemed to go down. My old skills seemed useless in this new bear market. I was desperate, taking bigger and bigger risks, trying to recoup my losses. But it only made things worse.

Now, I'm $200,000 in debt. I'm back in my parents' flat, too ashamed to tell them what happened. I've been dodging calls from creditors, living off instant noodles and canned food. The loan sharks are getting impatient. I don't know what they'll do next.

I keep replaying everything in my mind, wondering how I could have been so naive. I had it all, and I threw it away for a pretty face and empty promises. The worst part is, I know there are others out there like me. Guys who think they're too smart to get scammed, who think they've got it all figured out.

That's why I'm writing this. As a warning, I guess. But also... well, to be honest, I'm desperate. I still have some hookup contacts. If anyone's interested, I'm selling my contact list. It's not much, but it's all I have left.

So that's my story. From crypto millionaire to broke and in debt, all in the span of a year. If you're reading this and thinking it could never happen to you, think again. It can happen to anyone. Trust me, I know.

Tough luck with life, but 200k in debt is not that bad. Plus since you are a software engineer with a working background at least you can start from middle ground and work hard. gd luck bro
