Yes u need one, unless your spouse can read English or Chinese characters and understand the meanings. For me, my baxa can read in Chinese but the fxxker told her to explain what some words mean n she can't. Straightaway a translator came and gotta pay!!! KNN I paid S$350 in total.

Any idea can use own translator? my bro wife also vietnamese but she is well verse in english. She is considered family member, so can ask family member to translate?

You will be surprised to know that HK is also one of the more popular destinations for VN ger to work. For the past many years, Singapore, HK , Macau and taiwan have been popular destinations for VN WL. But some years back, Taiwan banned VN gers and VN tour group to go Taiwan. Even the relatives of VN gers who married Taiwanese man can only go for short period of time and only after 40 years old.

The translator must be registered with the Vietnam Embassy.

you do your solemnization at ROM huh? there very strict one la, should have done it outside. most of the time, as long as can copycat what is being said during the pronouncement can liao.
