Mr Prata Shawn ask me go take revenge for him mah so 他出錢我出肝 loh hahaha... He provide the drinks I got free drinks so I just help him whack loh haha.. I took down 5 before I went down though haha.. Yesterday my friend in CP meet with something interesting.

He took a cab from TEH to lucky. And when he alight, he was stop by the traffic police!!!

He was ask if the cab driver got 打表... My friend says no.. And he record down the cab number.. Haha


Seems like CP is clamping down on cab over charging. Good!

BTW - (Just in case some of you still think that all the taxis on the taxi ranks at the train station will still always overcharge you) - if you go to the outside lane of the taxi rank (ignoring all the taxi drivers on the inside lane still trying to overcharge you), these taxis will definitely turn on the taxi meter and only charge you the exact fare as shown on the meter.

There is even a bilingual sign advising a telephone number to call if any of these guys overcharge you.
This only started a couple or so months ago and I now regularly get on these taxis without any hassles.

If I'm not wrong, I remember only seeing yellow cab doing that.

But still it will have a shortage of cab during peak hours. U have to wait for a fair bit of time.

Yes, MOSTLY the yellow cabs (which is cheaper too) but I have also gotten in a blue taxi on that rank and he also only charged me the meter fare.

And yes, these taxis NOT available 100% of the time - but I usually get one just about right away/would wait maximum 5 minutes.

And just ignore those taxi drivers on the inside lane, lying to you that there will not be taxis lining up on that lane

good info. what is the typical charge though (ballpark say from train station when you're familiar with to huimei/huihua/miraton area?)

In a yellow taxi on the meter and he doesn't take you on a merry go round, its approx 10 RMB. If bargaining (not a taxi in the line I mentioned), they'll typically do it for RMB 15 after a bit of bargaining and if not during the rush hour/week-ends

Pay not more than rmb 15. This is the typical charges for taxi now in cp.if u use meter, lesser by one or two dollar nia. Not many taxi drivers are willing to use the meter anyway.

Actually if meter can be lesser, ard 10rmb for like going from MF to Miraton. However nowadays they charge flat rate of 15rmb, some even charge you 20rmb and give you some bull crap about traffic jam etc.

Jus to share...
In GD (GuangDong esp. GZ) Yellow cab is usually drive by local born driver, they are familiar with e roads, they knw e quickiest & more direct route to places. Tis is Y, they don't usually bring u 'merry go round' b4 reaching destination; esp. If u speak are Chinese & speak their language (they'll get complaint if they do on purpose)

For other Taxi, they are mostly driven by other province driver (those whom either stay GD for living or moved in to GD). Tis drivers 1st unfamiliar with e roads, 2nd is tat some are dishonest & hoping to make a extra ¥ by detouring route.
