Yes, the source actually from you bro blackpage. I read your post and confirmed with my friend the location who is a season cheongster of batam.

According to my friend, the location where the street walkers stand is at those small lanes near the bakery shop at the area of jodoh square near bank BCA. Opposite the road is where Pacific is. Anyway, thanks for your good source.

Generally Batam is a safe place, In fact I feel safer in Batam than I felt in Singapore.

In fact some people also share the same thought as you.

In indonesia especially Batam , crime rate is low although there are many low income or jobless people around. The people seems to be easily contented and grateful when they are being given a full time job.

From my own encounter, generally those not so well to do or poor indonesian people usually will ask for money on the street from the locals / tourist. Even they are being rejected, they will still greet us with respect.

However, this is not the case in JB where news reported many cases of sporean being robbed in bolehland. The desperate robbers will usually attack the victim and rob away his/her possesion. Security in JB has to be step-up by the authority in order to control the high crime rate there.

Therefore concurred with you that Batam is generally a safe place to stay.

I am a long-time patron of both discoes. Except two single times, I was the only non local there.
What's better is exquisitely a personal opinion. They are different.
I recommend to avoid Planet: lower level, darker, questionable people is the majority.
MUSIC
In both places, it's Indo techno, that is an unique kind of techno. Look on the net for "dugem" or "dj pacific batam" and you can have a sample of that.
I tend to prefer Newton. At Newton music is louder, if even seems possible, and a bit harder techno.
99% of people will run away in 5 minutes: too loud, too dark.
AMBIENCE
Pacific is larger, so it's still possible to have some conversation and look at faces.
It's an Indo disco anyway: dark, loud, many are tripping around (extacy).
Newton is PACKED! There is no more people, but it looks so because of packing. Even more tripping.

Plenty in both places, but I recommend CARE.

Actually some cheongster who went back kampong with the cewek are not only because of marriage.

Many of them who went back to kampong with their cewek girlfriend did not end up getting married.

In fact you can just treat it as a sightseeing trip to experience those kampong lifestyle. You will realise how fortunate we are when we get to see their living conditions. If you stay there long enough, you may also get to learn how to cook some indonesian dish which your cewek may teach you. I was being taught how to cook the famous kampong dish Yellow Ginger Fried Chicken when I was on my short trip to java last time.

Occasionally, some massage ceweks in batam whom I have good chemistry with and after few repeated session with them, will casually invite me to their hometown in java too.
(so far encounter 2, one at king's massage and the other at bahari massage)...

However, agree that buying milk is cheap but keeping the cow will cost a bomb.

Although nowadays people tend to buy the milk but not the cow, however it is good to know where the cow originate from, hehe ...

Newton (Planet 2) - VIP is UNSUITABLE for sing song. Only for tripping purpose. FL quality so far best in Batam. But they DO NOT have Bintang bir!

Planet (the orignal one) - Going downhill. I rather tidur sendiri. And the vip is quite expensive and not suitable for singing song. No Bintang bit!

HH Club (Planet 3) - Worst for FL hunting interms of quantity and quality. In fact I saw less than 5 FLs in the fews times I'd been there. VIP looks good, but not suitable for singing song. No Bintang bir!

As a long time resident here, I agree. However, I tend not to give to the kids asking in the streets as they are being controlled by gangs.

There are a few whom I know who are cared for by the Masjid, and these are those who have no arms, legs, etc. I do give them, as I know them by face already. Everytime I see them, I give 1k or 2K. It is a small change, and they are valued becos they can bring in the money, to those who can feed them.

Some of the masjid have orphanage where they care for the kids. These are places where children are cared for properly.
