Re: Issue with ICA
1) first time come back sillypore with my bx... i queue behind her. she got problem at counter, i walk up to clear the issue with custom but instead she clear me first then ask me wait outside while bx go office.
2) few years back, i bring a pinoy back from malaysia. at woodland checkpoint we hand in 2 passport together as though we are a family, the custom clear us together. we ke si ke si make small talk infront of the counter... "later go home, mum got cook, we go home eat, etc..." 3) 7 years back, i bring a vb to malaysia for a day then come back by bus. i am allowed to follow her to office to clear things up. but the officer stamp 3 says only and ask me to go ICA HQ to apply if want longer stay for the vb. 4) before i bring my bx back after her ban period, i did apply for all sort of entry pass and entry visa... thought if approve then got document proof to show at immigration counter. but all kana reject. so i took the risk of kana send back to bring bx back. |

In reply. 1) I usually take the second longest queue. Becos longest queue will be asked to spilt to less longer queue. Timing must be good in this. I did manage to find out from the counter. 2) This i tried before. But computer never tells lie. We manage to get the chop, only to be erased after the system comes up with "Cat A" and "invite" us to office. 3) I also kanna that at custom 4) That bx's reputation... hmm... need to improve la. . Mine never kanna caught before |

Re: Issue with ICA
Dear brothers,
I need some advice from brothers here. I've just married with my bx & she's just started work with work permit & LTVP. We are thinking of applying PR for her after 6 months (as I heard & actually read some of the posts here, it will be better not to apply directly to cool things down with ICA). My question here is that: Will it affect the '6 months period' if we were to travel out of Spore for holidays just few days? Appreciate your advice. |

Re: Issue with ICA
ICA is qutie screwed up. putting in chickens so easy then catch those fake chickens and deport them away, as though they got a quota to deport people back.

I recently was a witness to a friend's marriage in Davao. They got married in church and then proceeded back to the village with the entourage and celebrated with the whole village. The best part was there was no documentation and her folks were fine with it. |

Re: Issue with ICA
Quick question to any expert here:
I have a PRC gf who I intend to bring to SIN to give birth. Assuming I can get the LT visit pass for her to give birth in Singapore, after giving birth I understand that I can put my name down as the father provided I'm personally attending when the birth is registered. Would that also mean that the child would be entitled to be a Singapore citizen? (BTW I'm a Singapore citizen.) Thanks to anyone who can advise. And who can give tips on how to get the LT visit pass for giving birth here as she does NOT have a marriage certificate.

only way to do what you wanted is to marry her immediately and start applying ICA for her LTVP...

Re: Issue with ICA
Bro gniwgonwk
To add on bro hurricane, if you want your son to be a citizen, you can do so via adoption by that would result in hassles. The actual regulations to refresh if born overseas:- An overseas-born minor (child) may be eligible for Singapore Citizenship by Descent under Article 122(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, if any of the following conditions can be met: a) Male Singapore citizen by Birth who has a lawful marriage; b) Male Singapore citizen by Registration who has a lawful marriage and minor shall not acquire citizenship of the country he was born by reason of his birth in that country; c) Female Singapore citizen by Birth and minor born on or after 15 May 2004; d) Female Singapore citizen by Registration and minor born on or after 15 May 2004. Minor shall not acquire citizenship of the country he was born by reason of his birth in that country; or e) Male or Female Singapore citizen by Descent has to complete an additional Annex to the application declaring their residence period in Singapore. The application can only be accepted if the applicant fulfils the requirements stipulated in (a) or (b) of the attached Annex. The application has to be submitted within one year of the child’s birth. Hope this helps. All the best |

But having your name on the child's birth certificate DOES NOT entitle the child to any of your citizenship benefits if he is born outside of wedlock. |

Re: Issue with ICA
First hand experience..... when I was in the SAF one of my men (married with 2 kids) got involved with another woman while stationed in LOS and got her knocked up..... she gave birth and he was listed on the birth certificate as the child's father. No problems initially until he got posted back to Singapore and tried to bring in the kid. ICA did not recognise the kid's status.... MOE same same refused to let him register for primary school.
Finally his own legally married wife had to adopt his child with another woman as her own before he could go to school here. |

Re: Issue with ICA
Another case....... childless couple married for several years but could not conceive..... so the wife had an affair outside and got pregnant.
When the child was born she listed the child's biological father's name in the child's birth certificate instead of her own husband's name. But this child had no problems getting his passport or going to school because his mother has a valid marriage certificate albeit married to another man that was not his father. |
