You didn't visit the cafes on Vinh Vien just round the corner from the Su Van Hanh ones you wen to? Mi Fa in particular is (for my money) the best in that area, particulary from about 3pm to 6pm. The girls change shifts there at 4pm so if you arrive at about 3pm and stay 2 hrs, you can get to see all the girls that work there. To me, 009 is not really worth a visit. Even 173 is not a favorite.

Waze is a cool app. Google just copied its style and added it into the Google Maps app as a beta feature.

Oh, i didnt realised that the Vinh vien is nearby. I spent too long searching for 173 Su Van Hanh. In between still go Mr Potato to have a bite. Now that i know where is it and got it down in my waze, i will visit it the next time.

Forgot to add that in my last trip, in D5, I passed by an unit with red lights inside. This time, I went back to explore. When I stepped in, all the women stared at me. Yes, all women at least 30yo. It has a restaurant settings.. with square dining tables and a small stage. I'm the only guy there. Soon, I realised that it is a LSB. Decided to order a can of coke to observe. The lady was trying to sell me 10 cokes! Ha ha.. they left me alone after they realised that I'm not going to call a hen, or old chick. After a while, an old man walk in and a hen sat with him. Nothing much happened inside. Not even touchy stuff. The can of coke cost me 30k and I left.

Yeah if you go up SVH and 009 is on the right followed by 173 on the left, continue to the traffic light and there make the right onto Vinh Vien, there's actually 3 cafes on that one block, with one more just cross the street. on the next one parallel to SVH (always forget the name of that street) which is also decent. But the first one Mifa is probably best of this group around here.

My guess is that it's a Hat Voi Nhau. Was anyone singing? Maybe I'm wrong and some seniors here are shaking their heads. Not sure what you mean by LSB. (I'm not from Singapore) If it's what I think it is, the one I was in (Phu Nhuan) was also very tame, like you saw. But girls much younger than what you describe, a couple cute ones and a few not cute. There used to be many of these places round the city, but have mostly disappeared. Anyone curious can go have a look -- the Nguyen Tri Phuong bridge that goes from D5 to D8, if you take the narrow side road next to the bridge heading toward the canal, there are 2 of these places about halfway down there on right side of the bridge. I've never been to these but have always been mildly curious about them, just never enough to go in and look.

This reminds me of years ago, when I used to go to bars and clubs with buddies, once in one bar in Phu Nhuan near the old Paradise, there was one small slim and pretty girl there who would sometimes go up on a tiny stage they had and dance wildly and very sexily, almost in the strip club style but with lots of energy and fast to the beat of the music. I never really noticed how sexy her body was (nice legs and ass, slim shape) until I saw her dancing. But wow, what a turn-on to see a girl dance so sexily and enthusiastically, you could see she was enjoying the dancing so much, her mind in another realm as she danced. (part of that actually was caused by the girl drinking too much there in the bar, that was standard in those places -- often you would see girls collapse unconscious and be dragged off by staff to a backroom or upstairs) Seeing a girl dance like that just gets me very excited. I managed to get her a drink and talk to her at my table. It went very well. Some days later I returned, and was told she quit. UGH! Stupidly I did not get her phone number. I asked around to the different girls and finally got a description of where she moved on to work. I went out and couldn't find the place. I came back days later and asked for better description. To cut a long story short, I eventually found the place and went in, and it was a hat voi nhau, a very very different kind of place. Customers sat at tables, some with hostess girls, and took turns going to the front of the room and singing some song to the entire 'audience.' During the song, some girls or customers would approach the singer and give them a rose, with the roses costing 10,000 or so to buy. Very strange setup. I sat with my girl, visited the place maybe twice. She of course persuaded me to get up and sing, something I would never ever never ever do in my own country, and so I did it. And I will never forget, as I did it, this girl suddenly became absorbed in her phone, even going outside to take a phone call while I was standing up there singing to a room full of strangers. (not full really, more like scattered) That was as big a turn-off as watching her dance was a turn-on. So I left the place soon after that, no bad scene or anything, just "ok I have to go now" but never went back or called her again.

yes yes..from what you described, it is a Hat Voi Nhau... there are flowers on the tables..reminds me of our local hang flowers scene. The old man went up to sing a tune, then followed by the woman. I left soon cos the woman sings terribly...

just came back on a few days trips from KL-SGN-SIN..

went to a local ktv (don't know where still) whereby you need to pay for the singing part (125k / hour), if not it will be just the girls + beers...atmosphere is so eerie without any music, hence just pay for it

anyway was still shocked at how the custom officers openly say "you got coffee money give me?" It happens to most counters i see, also to the guy infront of me, i wanted to shift lane, but too late...gave $4 sin dollars kena stare at him...knn...so i say "you want? if not give me back", he lan lan release my passport to me

Almost all ktv have the per hour ktv charge.
U can don't want if u have enough bros and chatting joking drinking loud enough.

Lol...interesting at customs..but u don't need to give. In the end they will give up. Because it's near tet...everyone overdrive for money.
They don't ask from me...and I been flying up and down once every 2 weeks recently.

As a rule of thumb. I always keep my flight ticket stub in the passport when passing immigration .
Then they got nothing much to ask.
They can't do anything much...just want money as tet is coming

Whether Tet is coming or not, it can happen anywhere from immigration, taxi drivers, waitresses etc People with dishonest mind will always wanting to earn a quick buck.
Taxi drivers will tell you they don't have small change to return back to you for your fare. They will show you their pocket are all 100k notes. Waitress will "ti siow" after you have paid for your bill expecting some change to return back. They will come up with various ways to cheat you of your money. Once a vietnamese gets angry, they can be very fierce. It's just not worth it to get into a war words with them. Just pay them with the correct change so that they don't have a chance to short change you.

Today is New Years Eve..please be prepared to be in a big crowded jam if you are going to D1...even if you stay in D1 also try not to go outside of D1...otherwise you have to walk back...and sometimes can be very far...dun expect taxi or motorbike to go far....if you do not have a booking tables then you can forget it because most entertainment places such as disco, clubs, pub, lounges are packed...

Little bro me is going to HCMC next week with a friend for some chionging action(4days 3nights.).Kindly advise how much to change also. 1st visit to HCMC, after reading alot of threads still rather clueless. Quite afew of bad experiences too. Any kind bros can teach abit or 2 on HCMC, where to chiong and how to chiong lol. Want it to be a fruitful trip ! Thanks alot in advance!

1.never change dongs in Singapore. For small amount, change at hcm airport will do. In hcm, any gold stalls or shops can change currency. Even those stalls in wet markets.
2. 4 days 3 nights of chionging, $500 sgd should be enough. Of course, bring extra sgd just in case you crazily decided to tip 5m dongs for a hj.
3. Chiong places wise, there are many massage parlour and ktvs in D1. tourist prices though.
