Being overcharged once happens to anyone. but I have never seen such a systematic "carrot chopping". The standard fare from Harbour Bay to Nagoya has always been 50k for years, negotiable down to 40k with some effort. Now I read there is this new thing of the 30k fixed fare, but I still have to try.

To the point that often I do not even mention the price with the driver. With my heavy luggage (this lowers the chances and also my willingness of negotiating) I get on the taxi, once in front of Formosa I get down, I take my luggage, and I hand 50k to the driver, meaning I am also tipping. Never had a single discussion, just big smile and thank you.

Thanks to bro nono 's guide on joints.
Managed to reccee most of the joints last week friday.

Started with sedona/goldbird,(3.30+) got a shock of life after viewing the grades....

Next.. walked past a joint , link, .. Subsequently happy massage etc.. Walked past a joint which is under rennovation.. The girls look ok to me but didnt take as want to view more.. Its called havanna.
Then go massage 31 , 29 or smthing , we are following the a okt.

Further, we went to utama area. First time to kupukupu, quality so so nia, maybe we are too late?

Was a bit shag..and finally we settled on kris krandy. The girl met my mininum standard and it was our last joint to go. (i was thinking of going back to havanna though)

You should go as early as possible just after lunch, maybe from about noon onwards. On some days, especially near weekends or PH, there are many competitors for the prettiest cewek. Havanna, MM, Sri Kandy, Bunga, etc can offer you good choices during a less busy weekday. Cheers

...and my bills for all the groceries to date in Batam,hehehe...i didnt visit any supermarket on 8 August 2018 tho.

Didnt realise i already spent so much on groceries alone and i havent even left Batam yet. Above posted receipt can be for my future Batam trip/s price comparison with other supermarket tho,hehehe...

I remembered i post recently about the standard of joints gals, describe as Jialat

Last time evey joints have their own agents sourcing ceweks for them from the kampongs and other cities and the agents earn a comission of 1.5-2juta per cewek. But as time goes by many of such agents were caught or stop sourcing for them, coz the commision not longer attractive to them.
For joints, source of ceweks become lesser.

What make it worse, now many outside agents are aiming their ceweks, sending their men to daily visit joints, once spotted SYT or better looking cewek, they will book the cewek and offer the cewek very much higher pay to work for them.
How much can a SYT earn a day in joints? Not even enough to cover a ST sharing by these agent offer to them. There are many rich locals that paid high rate for ST in batam. Few SYT i know personally earning 1juta for a ST and easily get 4-5 customers a day.

I knew 3 groups of agents doing that and sure have many others. So how can joints have good looking ceweks when so many agents are targeting their ceweks.

Huh? 60k to 80k rupiah from Harbour Bay? I am surprise they price it at that. Then it is no wonder they do not have business. Kind of deserve it.

I pass by harbour bay during the noon time,an old Indo uncle speaking in English was touting ,telling me business has been very bad. Everyone were either having hotels picking the tourist up,or friends pick up or pre-booked taxi drivers picking them up and/or regular Batam visitors were mostly using online taxi which they as taxi driver also find it difficult to tell them apart,hehehe... (conventional taxi and Go Car taxi actually looks quite similar in appearance)

The 30k rupiah taxi rides from Harbour Bay does boost their business a little tho,but well,according to him is just a little (it will take time for most people to change their habits of traveling tho). Not a very significant increase. I wondered why so too.

Then later i find out some hotels inside Harbour Bay were offering 35k taxi rides for the exact area from long before the 30k rupiah offers (i took a photo from one of the hotel's taxi charges,which i shall only post out when i get back to Singapore or whenever i am free). Not to mention more hotels away from Harbour Bay were also offering free/cheap pick ups from ferry terminals too.

(many dont really like taxi drivers in Batam,just go online and you see taxi getting complained were plentiful and otherwise why many were looking for "reliable" taxi drivers)

So now, Harbour Bay ferry terminal passengers become smarter since their choice increased. Not forgetting, passenger can also take taxi from passengers who just drop off at the departure hall too,hehehe....

Anyway, when will your next trip be bro nono, after your current one i mean. I was actually thinking of going 17 to 19 aug. From hotel going to Jodoh cost 25k rupiah according to Zest Hotel,hehehe...

I think other hotels inside harbour bay were already pricing their taxi charges to Nagoya area at 35k rupiah,before the harbour bay taxi stand price their charges at 30k rupiah tho. Hearsay from taxi in Harbour Bay.

It was original made to be a kind of service for guest only,but well...
