Safety & Security (Batam is a safer place)

I believe many of us have read news about the crime rate in bolehland was terrible especially JB & KL. The robbers in JB are very cruel, will attack the victim before robbing them. That's the reason why many sporean buy property in JB always have gated fencing landed houses or condo guarded and protected by the security guards. (hope the guard dont kena bribe)

On the contrary in Batam, robbery and theft cases are very minimum . Some jobless or poor people roaming round the street in Batam tend to "beg" rather than "snatch" unlike happen in JB. Therefore In terms of safety, I would say that Batam is a much safer place to stay or retire when security is concerned.

Massage options & cost (Batam more choices & cheaper)

JB has many health centre located in a 4 & 5 star hotels e.g. Grandbluewave, Newyork, Paragon, Berjaya waterfront, Paris Spa, etc providing massage and sex service. These are the more upmarket massage places which will cost more than those shophouse massage parlour. The massage alone in a hotel health centre will cost about rm 100 whereas in shophouse massage average about rm 65-70 per hour. JB hotel health centre also offers B2B masage at rm 180 which is more expensive than Batam keysha B2B massage.

Many towns in JB In the past ten over years started opening massage shops mainly operate in a second storey shophouse unit. e.g. taman pelangi, tmn sentosa, bukit indah, tmn university, etc Therefore in any JB township you stay, you will definitely be served by at least one massage parlour...hehe

In JB, traditional malay massage can be found in many shophouses too. These joints have many pretty and young malay girls available and beside providing a relaxing massage with scented massage oil, they also know how to repair your aeroplane head. In bahasa they called it Urut Batin or sometimes called rawatan traditional. This penis therapy can improve your manhood by preventing premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. On the average, the cost of urut batin for 40 mins is rm 90. One of the more popular joints for urut batin is Gold Point massage parlour in permas jaya & tmn sentosa.

Contrastingly, Batam has many massage parlour packed in DC mall area & formosa/nagoya hill unlike in JB which are more dispersed. Massage near Utama area only cost 60k rp = 18 ringgit per hour much cheaper than the average cost of JB massage of rm65-70. Overnight sex service (Batam has plenty and cheaper)
One thing unique about Batam is that since the 80s till now, it still offers overnight booking girl service for customers. This is something we as cheongsters need to appreciate. Because in JB and msia there is generally no overnight booking of girls unless you are willing to pay a exorbitant fee.

The next nearest paradise cewek overnight booking place is Hatyai which is 890km from spore. You would'nt want to travel 890km just to enjoy overnight booking which you can just travel 13km to experience the same enjoyment in Batam, would you ? Massage Booking joints, KTV booking joints, disco, freelancers, pubs, street walkers in batam offers overnight booking.

Risks of being raid (Cheong in JB is very risky)
Although Msia has about 50% muslim population, it is a muslim country.
Whereas in Indonesia has more than 90% muslim but it is not a muslim country.

There is this so called religious police or polisi agama in JB who will go round raiding hotels, massage parlour, etc to check whether any muslim girls working in those trade. If a non-muslim man get caught in a room with a muslim lady by the religious police, the non-muslim man will be punished very severely. That's the reason why when customer book malay girls in hotel, they have to be discreet unlike in Batam, can openly bring cewek back to your hotel.

Almost everybody knows that Batam is a place where cewek can be booked overnight and till now seems like there is no enforcement and the sex trade continue to grow..Many customers feel more peace of mind and worry free to cheong in Batam than in JB..

Shopping malls (JB more)
Over the past few years, JB city has been developed very quickly as investment from china developers start pouring hugh sum of money into it building residential, commercial, industrial properties & infrastructure. This can be seen from the recent JB shopping malls that were just ready like IKEA Tebrau, Paradigm mall,etc JB also building the super hugh upcoming Southkey mid valley megamall. Other famous JB mall include Aeon mall (5 branches), Tesco mall (6 branches), Giant mall (3 branches)

On the opposite, Batam has the 4 main popular mall, nagoya hill, DC mall, BCS mall & harbourbay mall. Therefore Batam is not a good place for retiree who love to shop.

Conclusion
Whether to retire in JB or Batam depend on your lifestyle you like to live, how frequent you like to cheong, what type of cewek you prefer (brown sugar, yellow sugar, etc), whether you love travelling within the city, your health condition, the need to travel to spore unexpectedly and most important of all is the amount of retirement savings you have...

That’s why I am semi retired here. Travel to Singapore for some medical, n some business or meeting friends.

Use wisely ur expenses n Cheong when I like.

Just came back from a weekend stay at Batam
This hotel is cool and buffet is superbly delicious. Quite a decent spread of buffet.
I seen Ang Mos, Japanese and Koreans there. Opposite the hotel is golf course.
(Nearest Ferry Terminal is Batam Center)

One of the Best hotel i stayed so far after visiting batam for the past 20 years.
Next hotel may want to try Aston as recommended by a korean fren
