china still has not practice the OAC (One-time Authorization Code) at this moment ...

If its from the same town. The 1st 2-3 withdrawal is free from charge for different bank.

Anyway.. Same bank different province, they will have withdrawal charge as well.

Long time no see, you shouldn't have come back to CP IMHO

If you can't resist the gangtao and come back again, try taking Yong Dong. Yong Dong from CP to HKIA has direct MPV (no need change car) on certain time slots. More often than not, Yong Dong will be faster because they go via another custom. When I took Hua Tong last time, even the driver said Yong Dong faster because they go via another custom (don't know name). The Hua Tong always jam at custom (maybe my time slot unlucky).

To some of the questions on bank in China, to the best of my knowledge, see below:

1. Try to go for Bank of China because they simply have the most number of ATMs in China big cities, at least that's what I observe. You can hardly find the 农业bank atm.

2. For BOC, I do not think you need 5K to open account. 100rmb or less enough. The dongle is free now, but they will charge you an amount per year for it unless you VIP customer and/or via other methods not applicable to tourist.

3. If you open BOC account in CA, it is under Guangdong area. ie all ATMs in Guangdong BOC ATM you can withdraw free of admin costs, including CP. However though SZ is part of Guangdong, SZ has its BOC Domain hence admin charges apply.

4. You do not need dongle to log into internet banking for BOC. However you may need dongle for transferring money to others (something I do not do) or some other financial transactions like linking your credit card to online banking.

5. SMS service in terms of authorisation is there, at least for purchase goods online within China websites... more use for credit card purchase.

Lastly China is now number 2 economy powerhouse in the world now... costs of living are actually not cheap now (think costs of cheonging in CP now). Their Banking system, though full of bullshit rules, is actually quite advance.

I frequent CA & Gz more. Guess I will check out ICBC when I am there
in Nov.
