Depending on the type of envirnment and time of the match (take note closing hours), here are my recommendations:

33 Ly thuong Kiet - many young trendy viets there with their cute cute chicks. Big screen projection TV, usually screens major footballs. 3 levels. Closing at 2330h

Lounge of Horrison Hotel (at intersection of Cat Linh and Giang Vo)- Big TV, billard tables, not crowded. Sometimes can spot a couple FLs. Close late ;-)

MY WAY Cafe at Viconnex (Condominium cluster at Tran Duy Hung) - Sure fun place.. nearer to Fortuna than 33 LTK.

Ur Hotel Room - can get a few friends to watch in ur room too, if need girls, can order from basement 1 ;-)

Is the My Way Cafe mentioned by you, this joint they sell beer from all over the world. I am looking for a joint call My Way and they sell all types of beer from every country, about 100 types. I miss those days in Belgium which their beer list is like a text book. Maybe I can get my Duval from here. Have you got any info on this joint. It is posted in one of the Vietnam Airlines In Flight Magazine as told by my friend but I have not been able to get hold of it yet.

Yes, that's the place... forget about the Beer List.. go to the billard table and u will see an entire wall of fridge that has all the beer in the world. Go pick and choose urself and dun forget to get the phone number of the pretty waitress that follows u around when u picking the beer. That place has also become a 2nd office to some of my friends, they can stay there from 10am till dinner time, bcos the they serve great food, good beer, pretty waitresses, tables comes with power plug and also WIFI, what else can u ask for !!????

So much said.. now I also found a way to tell u where it is exactly in Hanoi ;-)

Thanks for the info and directions to the place. Actually it is quite close to Trung Hoa Nhan Chinh, a few boss ktv girls stay there. I will check out the billard table and fridge and waitresses on my next visit. Finally getting to drink some staut. Usually I am around that area near to New Town Hotel 2 at 218 Tran Duy Hung. Quite a good NEW Hotel for short time and long time also and girl friendly and man friendly. Some customers from boss ktv will bring the girls back to this hotel for short and long time.

There are quite a few Local KTV along the stretch of expressway from Sheraton Hotel to Sofitel Plaza. Few weeks back I went to one of those.. room was quite basic and sofa was bad. Came in beer and girls.. the one sitting with me was very young.. about 19, average looking farm girl.

we stayed 1.5 hours and left at 2300H. Then i proceed to Nutz bar for a beer. At 2330H, that girl who sat with me called me and asked if I would like to take her to supper ;-) Eventually we had breakfast together too before I send her home. At her apartment, she wanted action again.. so 1 more round. When I leave for work, she did not even mentioned or hint anything about money. Of course I am not that bastard, seeing the apartment she lives in, of course she needs money to survive. Which I had already slipped VND500k in the toilet roll in her toilet knowing that she will be pleasantly surprised the next time she does her paper work in the toilet.

One week later, she invited me to stay overnight at her apartment.. which i gladly did. Action whole night and next day before I leave I slipped some money in a different location in the toilet again.

What surprises me is that in the afternoon I SMS to ask her if she has located the money and she said "What money! oh, so it was u the last time!?"

Moral of the story... U can get a lot of interesting fun if u venture to the local Karaoke and stay away from those places that speaks US$.

I'm back and thanks to bro Deptrai and Sugardad's recommendations, it was truly a fun time. FRs to follow.

On a more "serious" matter, I found a local inn that's very girl friendly. My girl for that night had NO id and they let her in (after she pestered them) AND provided protection! I cannot remember the name of the place but I can give you the address:

65 Le Dai Hanh St. The alley is inaccessible by car so you'll have to take a 20 sec walk in. Warning: no cabs available in the area, so you'll just have to take a motorbike cab back to your place.

Agree with bro Deptrai, stay with the local KTV. No English/Chinese? NO PROBLEM. Cheap, decent enough (hell of a lot of stair climbing though) and still can have fun. Can also improve your Vietnamese.

Thanks for the recommendation on MyWay cafe. Indeed is a nice place to chillout and drinks. It seems very popular with the local too.... actually I posting now at the cafe... hahhahaha....

Nice weather here...a bit cooling and windy .... a good esscpae from Bangkok which have been very hot the last few days. Damn it.... need to leave back to BKK tomorrow late night.

Any nice new hotels near the New Town area... which cost ard USD30-50 a night? Got or not?

Got! sure Got!.. The room is similar to a 3-Star, clean and new. Cost is only VND300K per night and got Internet in room included too. In the hotel got Sauna and masssage service too. have not tried to get girls from massage into room though ;-)

However it is not guest friendly, if u stay there for 3-nights and u want ur regular to stay with u, u should check her in together with u and explain that she is ur WIFE! it works!

I am finally in Hanoi. Living in the old quarters area. Actually first came here before CNY but didnt have much time to do some "touring". Then back for long break during the Tet here and now back here again. Weather seems to be getting hotter these days (only good thing is the girls wear lesser clothes n more revealing ones... )except for these past 2 days, drastic drop in temparature, freezing cold...and damn i left my winter jacket at home. Anyway, hope to catch up for some drinks n chat soon. might be dropping by Ho Guam Xanh this fri to check out that place. Am not quite a karaoke person actually. Any better suggestion bro? or anyone who would like to recommend some nice place to hang out n check out the chicketits...
