CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- Police are still clueless on the identities of two armed men who ambushed and critically wounded a wealthy Australian Wednesday night in Bgy. Manibaug, Porac town.
For the past five days, the Police Provincial Office led by Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde encountered difficulty in establishing the identities of the suspects who gunned down Timothy John Wright, 50, single, of 107-A Sofia Street, Josefa Subd., Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City.

“As of the moment, no witnesses have come out to describe the suspects, maybe nobody witnessed the shooting incident,” Albayalde said.

He said Wright is the owner of Affinity Hotel and Condominium on Fields Avenue, Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City. The victim was also involved in a construc
tion business.

The ambush of Wright has sent a frightening message to other rich foreign nationals who invested their money in putting up huge hotels, condominiums and entertainment clubs in Bgy. Balibago and adjacent areas.

One of them, who requested anonymity, said his partners are threatening to pull out their investments for fear of their lives. “They claimed it is not safe anymore to stay in Angeles City,” he said.

Wright was among the numbers of foreign businessmen who were killed in Angeles City and Pampanga for the past few years. Their deaths remain unsolved up to the present.

Albayalde said the victim was driving a black Chevrolet Cruze LZ (RLF-899) when he was shot by riding-in-tandem assassins before midnight on Wednesday.

Police said the suspects got a chance on Wright after he slowed down due to a mild traffic. The victim was heading home after attending a friend’s birthday party when he was ambushed by the suspects.

The victim was still under observation, under tight police guard, at the intensive care unit of St. Catherine of Alexandria Medical Center in Angeles City.

A SOCO team recovered at the scene six spent shells for cal. .45 pistol.

Investigators said the victim had received death threats before he was ambushed. Police are looking at either love triangle, business rivalry or personal grudge as the possible motive behind the attack.
The latest news out was he did not survive...... RIP Tim.

FedEx plea to stay denied
By Rey E. Requejo | Posted on Jul. 22, 2013 at 12:02am | 853 views

The Court of Appeals has declared as unconstitutional the operation here of Federal Express Pacific Inc., an international airfreight forwarding corporation.

The court’s Fourth Division denied the company’s appeal to reverse its Jan. 23 decision declaring FedEx is a foreign corporation and hence could not engage in international airfreight forwarding.

The court denied FedEx’s appeal on June 6 but released its decision to reporters only last week.

“We hereby declare respondent Federal Express Pacific Inc. a foreign corporation disqualified in our country from operating as an ‘International Airfreight Forwarde,’ which is clearly a public utility,” the appellate court had said in its Jan. 23 decision.

The court said the Constitution clearly states that the operation of a public utility may only be granted to Filipino citizens or Filipino corporations

In ruling against FedEx, the court declared as “null, void and of no further force and effect” the May 2, 2011 resolution of the Civil Aeronautics Board granting Federal Express Pacific Inc. a regular permit to operate international airfreight forwarding business.

The case against FedEx arose after Merit Freight International Inc. and Ace Logistics Inc. questioned the CAB’s decision granting FedEx a regular permit to operate international airfreight forwarding business in the Philippines.

Merit argued that international airfreight forwarding is a public utility reserved for qualified Filipino individuals and corporations as embodied in the 1987 Constitution.

Ace Logistics said the CAB committed an error in giving FedEx a permit to operate in the Philippines when it is a 100-percent foreign-owned and foreign-based corporation.

So all the bad reviews about AC seem to be taken seriously by all concern and even our regular contributor had also gone on a quiet. About the re-location of bars to the SM mall in the future, this will not bring back the past glory we all came to know. It's like our Bugis street in the 60s and look at what it is today? The sight, smell and sound will be impossible to bought back to life again. Btw, i am glad to experience the many happy moment i had in the city of sin.

It's not much fun in the Philippines.

Those of you who have been to AC recently would have noticed the presence of heavily armed camouflaged clad security personnel...... these are men from the RPSB (Regional Public Safety Battalion) of the PNP...... similar to our Ang Chia squads.

They have been deployed to Pampanga to provide security and ensure public safety from attacks by the Muslim extremists during this Ramadan period according to the official press release....... however insiders say they were actually sent to AC because the Mayor requested for a "standby force" in case of retaliation by the business owners during this present ongoing crackdown and also to provide backup for the raids.

These men do not report to any of the local police stations or districts...... they take their orders directly from the Mayor's Office.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been visiting here many many yrs and no regrets. Best time and best money spent. I have not been back this year as the crackdown started and really dont intend to until things clear up. Several of my friends came back telling me place is NOT the same, attitudes are different, everyone is on edge, harder to have relaxing fun. My most recent friend came back and said it was too much work and hassle even as he was WILLING TO PAY FOR PUSSY. He said could understand if it was free but even with money it was not truly relaxing for him. He will not be back anytime soon.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

Will be flying to AC in 16 hours, my 4th trip of the year. With numerous negative feedback recently, it doesnt stop us from cheonging there. One of the main reason ofcourse is cheap booking fees. LT @ about RM150 - RM220, I doubt we can find this price around our region, correct me if I am wrong. My friend, JS, just back from AC on 16/7, and he is with us tomorrow.
Accrodind to him, bf is on going in most bar, but in a quiet way, girls are plenty, but customers less, good for us, less competition and more GFE. Some differences he noted is only one door girl was assign, and very very quiet field avenue. On a night, he personally saw Viking been raided, but the next minute he walked into DH, friend mamasan keep laser pointing bar girl for him.
Anyway, like in most places, we still have to be careful when cheong, I am not trying to defend that AC is safe, just that if one dont do so many stupid of showoff things, should not face big trouble. Well, will update the latest development after coming back from AC.

Lol....... I always thought this forum is mainly for our Singkie bros....... but apparently many foreigners are here too.
Some pages back I had posted about taking over the ownership of a bar in AC.
The events that followed that posting surprised me..... I received unsolicited offers from several current bar owners wanting to sell me their AC bars.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

The bar fines right now may not be such a big problem to realise. But what do you think will happen once they move all the bars into that new SM extension? Camera's all over? Sounds bad to me, and will be the final bar on the door if the rumors of the move to SM is correct.

Hahaha..... that just about sums up the situation in AC although I have yet to be there. Your post reminds me of the story about the butchers daughter.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

Some news for bros in the PI to digest.

Last Tuesday (23/7/13) in Mandaue City, Cebu.... a Korean man & a Caucasian man were detained on human trafficking charges. They are now incarcerated in Station 4 of Mandaue City Police.

For those who have not been to Cebu..... Mandaue is on the other side of Cebu City where the Universities are...... and is well known as an FL pickup zone..... be careful of who you pickup to avoid ending up like these 2 foreigner men.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

Further to my earlier post on the human trafficking arrests in Mandaue......

The City Government of Mandaue has been conducting a series of raids on bars in the last 2 weeks. On one such raid last Tuesday on a bar in Cortes street, six minors were found performing lewd shows on stage. Also found inside the bar were 2 foreign customers who had barfine the girls. A Korean man and an Australian were detained and brought to station 4 of the City of Mandaue Police. They are being held on human trafficking charges and is assisting investigations.
The bar is ordered to be closed and the alleged owner Virginia Amar is in custody.

Looks like the crackdown has spread to other parts of the PI..... be safe bros.

From what I heard from my contacts in Cebu.... the 2 foreigners were arrested because the girls they barfined were underaged..... one is only 14 and the other 17. Other mongers in the bar were left alone with their legal age barfines.
