Re: Anyone knows when will be the exact time that GL will be open again?

Old man ranting due to boredom caused by Covid19. I seen a couple of post on how it’s gonna be like or strong reasoning on why Geylang must return to operations.

More than 2 decades ago, the Singapore sex scene is nowhere like what it is now. If you had asked me back then, I would never believed that the industry could evolve till what we are seeing pre-Covid19.

During those days, the Thais are $40 a piece & dressed in evening gown like they are attending wedding or being a bride. The CAT150 is primarily Malaysian girls who are SO service oriented that they literally lick your toes individually.

KTVs are occupied by mainly Singaporean Ah Lians & Malaysian. Those are the days where you can really communicate with them based on our similar backgrounds.

After some years, entered the PRC era. Places such as BS, TH & etc sprang up, KTVs are dominated by PRCs and the Singaporean / Malaysian population got wiped out. PRCs then invaded the CAT150 & they are much younger and prettier. The PRCs street walkers filled the Lorongs where men like me flocked to them like bees to honey. Meanwhile, the Thais increased their pricing from CAT40 to CAT50. The authorities clamped down on the street walkers and they went online.

The dynasty by PRCs did not last long either, the Viets started to invade our shores. Started with KTVs & it also spread to Geylang.

Perhaps, this Covid19 might have signify the end to the PRCs dynasty in Geylang & maybe mark the start of Viet dynasty or will the PRCs mounted a fight to return to power. We would never know until Covid19 is contained. Such is the fate of all Dynasties, the rise to power and the decline to extinction. So far, only the Thais have survived the era but they have never dominate Geylang. For all we know, the Thais are a black horse in the running in this struggle of power.

Looking back, Geylang is indeed one of the most colorful place in Singapore and the place which have brought me both joy & sorrow throughout the years. A place which I know that I should leave if I can but always return when the urge become overwhelming.
