Be careful when eating raw fish...
A local S'porean contracted food poisoning after eating sashimi at a local restaurant and was fortunate to survive the experience.
According to his Facebook post, he
had visited Sushi Express at Seletar Mall where he ate 20 slices of sashimi.
While eating, he found bloodstains on some of the sashimi which he promptly returned to the conveyor belt.
After he returned home, he developed a raging fever and shivered until his "lips turned purple".
He was eventually hospitalised and was
lucky to have escaped Group B Streptococcus infection which can cause your limbs to rot and even lead to death if not treated promptly.
The restaurant in question had received several bad reviews on its Facebook page.
According to one patron:
"The sushi on the belt looks old. And their desserts are at room temperature."
Another had a more harrowing experience:
"To the owner or the restaurant manager - its a good practice to have a small bin left on the table but at least have it washed and cleaned...my god the bin which was left on my table was filled with some vegtable tingy and dried food must be a few days old.... yucks!!"
