Ha ha - did you notice that an active poster on this thread 10 years ago is named "hurricane?" I had even thought it was also you - but apparently not!

And good to know that I'm not the only one who've never even heard of this place.

Poipet have improved much compared to a decade ago. Although still having touts, beggars and poverty still lingers. Casinos aplenty near the vicinity of the immigration but nowhere compared to posh casinos like MBS or the ones in Macau.

Personally ive not been to this place but quite a number of my friends were regulars to this place since 7 yrs ago. They came here to gamble and to romance, find gf etc. As a gambler, they stay and eat in the casinos foc, all they need was to exchange about sg$600 to sg$1k into rollimg chips.

For those who love to gamble, then this is surely a great place to come as u can hv a chance to chiong and spent extravagantly using the casinos money.

Juz don stay too long in Poipet. From experiences I stayed 3 days there I gambled 72hrs away. Lucky I kept some petty cash in the hotel safe for my return trip back BKK to catch flight back singapore. Kept my credit cards and atm cards in singapore too otherwise I could be begging outside the hotel now or lost my entire family fortune :D :p

Hi Bro,

Unsure about the conditions of the road from PP to SR, when I was first there 2 years ago, they were surfacing it and conditions were real bad, some bloody dusty. Nothing much to do along the road but can visit Floating Village near SR. However, girls in SR were cheap and good.
Cheers!

Could I get to Poipet from some of the buses in MoChit? Is there a day visa like the one in Mae Sai / Tachileik?

You can try to get a bus to aranyapratet.

For Mae Sai can cross to tachileik. First get about 1/2 dozen passport size photo and then go to the immigration to surrender your passport for a special pass. Please proceed with caution.

Nothing sexciting in Siem Reap...... if you thinking of going there.... stay in a backpacker hostel and bring lots of liqour. The ang moh backpackers like to drink and will join you when got free liqour ...... and "reward" you when they get high or drunk :p

Many of these backpackers are young adults just finish education and want to adventure before joining the workforce.

Hey bros, i going to bkk for 10 days and plan to head into poi pet to gamble a bit over the weekend.

Any bros been there recebtly? I read sg passport are now visa free hence no need pay for visa. And also i tried to book hotel room at star vegas online but they dont seem to have an online booking site.

I have done research on how to get there. But the problem is there isnt much info on how to go about once i get there.

Hope some bros can share.

Thank you

You do not require any visa for PP. There are 2 Vegas in PP. Not sure which one I stayed during my trip on Feb 2018. I went straight to the hotel counter and they gave me a room at 900 bahts. Hope this helps
