nowadays dayuse hotels require 2IC to checkin? or mostly ok with 1 IC check in?

Usually dont. 1 collect the key 1st will do. Generally bigger hotel dont bother much unless those small hotel with receiption by the lift may ask. Other than that usually the "gust" just walk in and proceed to the lift will do.

3 stars due to their smaller set up the front desk will mostly ask. Unless u check in 1st.
