This is a true sequence of events. I am helping someone (Person X) to ask for advice. Please don't be nasty.
Assume the following:
1. X's father had a mistress for years. X's mother and younger brother doesn't know. But X found out many years ago and confronted his dad.
2. X's father apologised to X for his indiscretion. He requested that X kept this secondary family (comprising of X's stepmother and younger stepsister) a secret.
