Once a ML told me if kena raid the AV officer will first confiscate their hand phone(s) and check through all the messages (wechat/whatsapp/sms)to find evidence. Therefore most ML will delete all chat records after your visit or at the end of the day. If you have to strain to think about the topic that is engaging, then it's pretty much a sign of no chemistry lorr. Helps if you have some similar hobby/interest with the ML then you might get some useful info too. Typically you and the ML would have reached a certain level of rapport or relationship beyond that of a customer and service provider. Chat will happen frequently, and it can be about anything... including flirting content.
Some do develop into outside relationship, or in rare cases become mutual friends.

I think the number 3) type is very grey. It's mostly a subset of 2) or 3) I'm more the type to treat things commercially and never been proven wrong. Imo especially prc ml are really cut throat and overly practical.
