Following was a letter from the Thai-Canal org to the Thai PM that highlighted the benefits of having the Thai Canal. The Thais now believe that they don't need foreign investment to dig the canal (estimated 4 billion cubic meters of soil).
Targeted industries for the proposed special economic zone are transhipment, tourism including cruise-liner hub and ship-repair...
