generally most of the cam using DV cable.
there are lot of movie making software. I only use window movie maker before.. if ur using window Xp and above.
when u connect the cam to computer can auto detect. file size you can choose to smaller size.
I am not expert in this video making..

Yeah but I want to know which server he uploaded the video to in the first place.

The problem could be related to the file ending up corrupted during the uploading process. It happens quite often and could have been caused by a disruption in the connection or a server problem.
