This has been going on for sometime since they migrated to a new platform some months. And it is certainly not the usual approach to track traffic for marketing and advertising purposes. Those who had firewall protection would have detected the attempts.
Last night something happened and those who have good firewall would have blocked the website. Even Safari has issued warnings.
