U can apply for a scheme call Malaysia my 2nd home scheme. It is a multiple entry visa for 10 years renewable. U cant work under this scheme but u can set up buisness. Best u can bring in yr bx and any child u have. And u can bring in yr sg car and refit it with a Malaysian car playe, registered.

But the problem is it takes hell lots of document and very long process which will need a lot of umdertable monies to nudge u forward.

there are agents who can help u on this but their agent fees are way too steep. 6k to 10k sgd per person 0.o

yes,but is damm expensive over there unless no choice,even some of their thai beer cost more than ntuc

most will buy back from their country,unless no choice then buy from there but i hardly see vietnamese go there and shop for their ingredient.

Thirdly, I love Vietnamese foods. :D

I'm also trying to connect her with Vietnamese wives community here so as to widen her social circle. Any suggestions?

Next week will be our ROM. Her family will also be here to witness the ceremony. She flew back to Singapore together with Us. Will be staying with Us till 31Dec before flying back to continue to work. In the meantime, apply LTVP for her. :p

The other time, saw a few posts posted by a guy under moderation talking bout police raid these and that and girls this and that, and inciting police to raid k2.. it's a place where my ex-gf worked. Out of concern (even tho we are not together), i got somehow emotional and minus his's already negative points, and being not emotional, didn't think bout much and rules to follow. Also not aware that i need to put my nick if i will to scold him.
He went to complain, and got my points deducted. It's my first such action and kanna already. 4D also not so lucky. Haha.

I'm on the 6th floor.

5th floor, a unit directly opposite mine, there's a VB who was pregnant... and she hanged herself a few years back.

The reason why was becos,
She was pregnant, and suffer depression.
Her husband's family didn't take notice, and her husband sided his mum.
His mother scold her, said bad things about her to her husband, relatives, neighbors and friends.
They ignored her.
She escaped back to Vietnam.
Her husband coax her back.
The same things happened.
During the VB's 7 or 8th months into pregnancy,
She hanged herself.

That's why, I find it very important for her to blend into Singapore life. And lucky for me, my parents and family dote on her alot... she jus short of asking for sky...

Some one said they are not interested in their Vietnamese wives' family rice paddy fields in Vietnam because land there is cheap. May be it is better to let your Vietnamese wives inherit their family land. What is cheap now may be valuable in future. Expecially if the land is near large cities in Vietnam.

Is it possible for Singaporeans to own properties in Vietnam through company ownerships? Is yes, only for private condos there?

For para 1, she still help me iron clothes, clean and even wiping sweat off my face. Maybe bcos its honeymoon period? haha.. hopefully now. But I also don't want her to do all these, she's pregnant and needs lotsa rest. Everytime she vomit, i feel like crying... haha.. emo man i am...

For para 2, i tried to invite a few vietnamese friends to my celebration party last weekend, but none turn up. Now I know how they save money :p

For last para, for Singaporean to own property, i heard from article that We can only lease lands.

Heard from my wife the land is only 50years if we buy. Vietnamese can keep it 999 years.

One article that i read some time ago said we can buy, if we co-share the property with a Vietnamese nationals 50-50%.

for peeling prawns, actually depends on individual vb. my wife still does that. for taking off shoes n socks, they are not japanese lah.

Don't you think you should get to know her better before rushing into marriage? When she is secretive about her work, it shows that the job is not a `normal' job or maybe, she is jobless, living off foreigners.

Marriage is a lifetime committment. Its not just about living together and having sex. Lots of marriages between Singaporean man and Viet spouse break down just a few years into the marriage. Most of them do not know the gal well and also do not know their culture well. One example will be the number of relatives of viet spouse flying in and out of Singapore, on the context of taking care of the viet spouse children. Think about it, buy air ticket, salary and gift of cash and presents when they go back, isn't it more expensive than hiring a maid here? But viet spouse do not agree, always cite reason its better for their mother to take care of their children. The main reason is that they want some money for their mother / relatives. They take care of your kids, speak TV to your kids and you will realise that your kid speaks TV most of the time and is detached from the norm in Singapore. When its time for school, language barrier will be another problem.

I have also known of tertiary educated Singaporean man who changed their lifestyle totally after marrying Viet Spouse. They become like a `viet farmer' living in Singapore. Started to seat on the floor to eat, drinking lots of alcohol, late for work daily etc. From a bright young man become a typical province viet just because he married a viet spouse. Reason given? If do not give in to wife, no sex given. Haiz....

This is just one of the examples. Lots of differences when staying together. So better be prepared to CHANGE after marrying your viet spouse. Spend more time to know her better before committing.

sisters and brothers or sis in-laws and bro in-laws cannot qualify for dependent pass apply by you...you can act as sponsors when they come in as tourist visa...:)

only immediate family ie. parents and children can qualify to apply dependent pass by you...:)

as for looking for job...well good luck to them...dun think their degrees are recognised...worst if they cannot speak fluent english or singlish...:)

most Vietnamese who worked here now usually have to go thru education here...either public or private colleage to be employable...:)

I may be one of the `stupid' fellow. Since my first viet trip to my few years of stay till now, i have been the person paying for viet gals. No viet gal offered to pay... lol. You should be glad if you are just paying for the meals, after marrying her, you will be paying for her whole family's expenses as we are `foreigner' and are deemed to be rich. They always say that no matter how poor is a foreigner, he is still richer than a viet as he can take loan from banks. hihihi. They think we no need to pay back the loan. As for those samsters that keep claiming their gal paid everything for them, i am seriously skeptical. Its either the VB is aiming for something bigger or the samster is simply not telling the truth. Its like some VB that my bx and i know, the husband will keep telling us how good his bx and her family is, never ask for anything . But the bx tell a different story totally. :D

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of Population Issues, Teo Chee Hean has assured Singaporeans that the Long Term Visit Pass Plus in no way disadvantages a foreign spouse's application for Permanent Residence (PR) or Singapore citizenship (SC).

Replying to various issues raised in Parliament during the Committee of Supply debate on the Prime Minister's Office, Mr Teo stressed that the Long Term Visit Pass Plus is meant to provide more certainty and a higher level of social and work benefits for spouses who might otherwise remain on a Long Term Visit Pass as they have not yet met the requirements for PR.

As at 31 December 2012, there were 11,736 foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens on the Long Term Visit Pass including the Long Term Visit Pass Plus scheme.

And, 4,200 have been granted the Long Term Visit Pass Plus since it was introduced in April 2012.

Mr Teo said: "As their marriages and family situations stabilise, and they become increasingly integrated, more of them will qualify to become Permanent Residents, and eventually naturalise as citizens. Over the past five years, 4,100 foreign spouses were granted PR every year, and a further 4,100 took up citizenship each year."

On the criteria for granting PRs and Singapore citizenship, Mr Teo explained that Singapore's immigration framework has been tightened significantly since late 2009.

All PR and SC applications are carefully evaluated on a comprehensive and stringent set of criteria to assess the applicants' ability to contribute and integrate well into Singapore society, as well as their commitment to sinking roots here.

This includes factors such as the individual's length of stay in Singapore, family profile, economic contributions, qualifications and age.

The government also considers the applicants' family ties to Singapore.

Mr Teo also addressed suggestions by some Members of Parliament (MPs) to include having Singaporeans vouch for or support a person who applies for PR or SC.

He believes these are possible ways to encourage integration and indicate how well an applicant has adapted to Singaporean norms, values and lifestyle.

And the government will study these suggestions and is also open to other ideas, as it continues to fine-tune the framework.

"We should continue to adopt a holistic framework for assessing applications, and remain open to diversity even as we do more to encourage and help immigrants integrate better into Singapore, and adapt to our norms and practices," he said.

What if a wl is willing to fork out her money for your expenses and hotel stay while in singapore?

This is a 100% true story, May my whole family be cursed if this is untrue cause to bros out there, this may seem like a fairy tale.

Boy A met this WL when chionging KTV. First time saw this WL being book by his friend, neh neh also being squeeze by his fren. NVM. Cause only another vietnam lady.

2nd day, Boy A go same KTV and saw this WL again. Boy A remember her cause previous night got some small talk, so ask her sit down and talk to her as his fren not here yet. Boy A learnt that last night this WL want for ST with his fren. Well, Boy A's Fren never come so whole night, Boy A try to KC the WL and managed to jio WL to ON. Nothing special ON, shoot 3 times, then pay the WL SGD100 only...

3rd night and so forth, every night WL will call Boy A and almost every night, will go hotel ON for free, Boy A only pay hotel charges.

And so come this fateful day, Boy A on Leave, this WL call and ask Boy A to go out. Boy A say no money, and this WL say she paid for everything, is SGD300 enough?:eek: So they went to book hotel, buy Bak Gua, eat frog leg porridge, everything the WL pay. I swear this is the truth.

So from that night onwards, everytime they go hotel or eat, the WL will pay. WL will work and then after work, use money earn to go out with Boy A.

So one day WL say no money sent home so Boy A give SGD500 to WL, but take note that previous outing and hotel stay already exceeded SGD500.

Last day, WL no money go home, so ask customer wan ON or not? Boy A not happy but dare not say cause he know he no money give WL. WL notice Boy A sadness and never go out with the customer for ON, despite she no money go home. Whole night, the 2 of them spent the night at Macdonald Bugis sleeping at the table.

WL go back, Boy A go Vietnam find her, then decided to get married. So arranged ROM singapore and come back get married. Boy A allow WL to work after marriage and allow ON and ST.

Boy A's family like WL, and there is no unhappiness between them, but due to transport problem, Boy A and WL move out to a rented house. It was at that time that Boy A got retrenched. WL never leave Boy A, instead go out working and use her own hard earned money to pay room rental and everyday expenses. Boy A in the meantime look for job.

Things that happen during their stay in the rented room. Boy A got into some serious argument with family. Boy A Mama come find WL, and talk nicely to the WL. WL go home scold Boy A to apologize to Mama.
No matter what happen, Boy A is always the first priority, even before her family in vietnam. Boy A go borrow money from licensed money lender because really need money to sent to her home, cause 2 month she come here, never even sent a single cent back, and WL's mama and children stay in HCM, house rental SGD200. That time, for 2 months only sent back SGD350.

WL tell Boy A everything, including sms, who sit with her, and let Boy A see all her customer, secretly of cuz. Sometimes, Boy A even sms customer on her behalf.

So now they have move back to Boy A's house, and after a few months of financial insecurities, they are still together and still very loving. And WL is still working, at the same time do housework, cook for Boy A's family before going to work. (Most of the time.) And everytime goes out with Mama, WL pay for food most of the time. So right now situation is like this. Will update even more in the future as this is a true story and is still ongoing.

So bros of this forum, did Boy A strike TOTO by getting to know such a WL and having her as his BX?

Update time for the ongoing life story.
sorry for long update but as this is a real story and a ongoing one. The update time also correspond to real life timing.

So to cut the update short, they have been living with Boy A's house for quite a long time, getting close to 11 months since they last known each other.

So during that time. WL got to know a customer name M. M is a typical gong gong chiongster who really believe in love from a WL. Some of the silly things he do is, "Call WL everytime on her phone and check on her whereabouts, must go fetch her every night and a lot of things all written in the matters of the heart section." From what i know and gleam across, WL has totally no feeling for him.

So, argument start between Boy A and WL because of this M. Until one day, M found out that WL is married to Boy A. WL sprout a lie that she is married to Boy A because she wants to work here. And M believes it. Wow....

So due to Boy A's family pressure and his new work life which includes going out to drink with customer. Boy A got worried everytime his WL goes out to work.

1) Get caught by police, everything gone case.
2) Get caught by Boy A's colleagues or clients, Boy A's face gone case.

So Boy A persuade WL to stop working and she really stop working. Never work anymore. In return, Boy A send SGD 600 every month home to vietnam. Sometimes SGD 800.

So this life goes on, WL becomes a dutiful housewife while Boy A work. And Boy A's work gets better and better till he can afford a Volvo.:eek: And WL cares for the house, and of course Boy A's belly. He's getting fatter day by day.

Anyway it was only later that i found out that the Volvo is company provide. Chey. But who can drive a volvo at 27 yrs of age unless u got a very rich family. Anyway thats out of topic.

But another twist of the story comes.

Boy A's past caught up with him. His past dealings with Ah longs caught him, and he got targeted by those loan shark syndicate. They wanted him to cough up SGD 10k for all the past dealings he did. I will not go into details on this matter as it could complicate me also.

Of course, i help him as much as i can. But still not enough. He managed to borrow another SGD 5k from his friends "So call" Friends on the promise that he will return 1k every month for 7 months!!!

So technically he needs to suffer for another 7 months.....talk about bad luck...But WL never leaves him, instead she told him that she will go work again to help him with this SGD 1K and no need send SGD500-800 every month back to vietnam. She promies that once every month she earns around SGD 2k, she will not work for the remaining of the month.

I was shell shocked....where got WL do until like this....even my friends with local well groom, well cultivated girlfrenz wont do this kind of things...

There is this vb who doesnt want to work like before and wanted to apply for workpermit working as beer promoter or sumthing like tat but she dont have LTVP... she got denied LTVP altho married ( not to me ) for 1 and 1/2 years and have been staying here for quite some time... So the question is now have new rules for VB that they cannot get workpermit if dont have LTVP ? And now got such thing as ltvp not given to VB ? Like this this VB can only go work at KTV and later if suay suay kana then husband suffer liao... My opinion if have VB working earning little better than nothing ma... Can past time also... Paisey if my 1st post ask too much...

Vietnam is not in the MOM list for foreign worker in the F&B industry. You can check this in MOM website for list of approved countries in the various industries. For any VB to hold LTVP means she is married to a Singaporean and therefore allowed to apply WP provided there is an employer willing to apply for her thus paying the foreign worker levy monthly.

This VB coming in on a tourist visa or Visitor Pass is not allowed to work anywhere. If caught doing illegal work then she can be deported and banned from entering Singapore for years depend on severity of the crime. This will mean painful period of separation and difficult process to appeal for entry to Sinagpore.

Her case is most likely that her husband may not have stable income and no CPF contribution therefore failed to apply her LTVP. ICA may deemed that he is not contributing to the nation and therefore no means to support a foreigner wife. Her husband should get a proper job and then apply her LTVP again.

1. No LTVP = No Work ... No Work Permit ... Can Go Work BUT Don't get Caught ! ... Both will Suffer ...

2. Work Permit = Good Qualifications ... Got Company willing to Engage n Pay Levy ... Ability to earn Certain Salary as defined by MOM ...

3. LTVP Rejected = She Got Bad Records ... or ... Husband not 'Good' enough ...

4. Yes .. There is such things LTVP is NOT given ... Not Automatic ... Even if married ...

5. Yes .. Earn Little is Better than Nothing ... BUT get caught ... It Worse than Nothing !

6. Can Past Time .. Yes indeed ... But Get Caught .. Can Past More Time in Vietnam instead ...

To supplement, If can get LTVP Plus, dun need work permit dun need levy...

LTVP+ holders will be eligible for a longer period of residency in Singapore. The LTVP+ will be for a duration of three years in the first instance and will be for up to five years for each subsequent renewal. LTVP+ holders will enjoy healthcare subsidies for inpatient services at restructured hospitals, which will currently be set at a level close to that for Permanent Residents.
