many bro surely don't know that bringing DVD into singapore is not aganist the law, just don't bring porn and VCDs. I always bring dvds in tens and show it to the custom officer and he'll just check for porn or not and he'll return me and all is well. Just take a bus there and buy, waste some of your time but it is really damn cheap :D lazy to DL from torrent anyway, take so long

I too bring DVD back always and never been a time i have been caught. Only for cigarettes and the duty is $7.50 a pack. Porn DVD have to be careful, it is a serious offence.

Even if it is not porn, those DVDs are still uncensured by our Singapore Censureship Board. The custom office can still confiscate your DVDs and make you collect them from the Censureship Board.

Maybe now the emphasis is on cigarettes and so many customs offcers also just close one eye on DVDs. Also if only about 10 pcs, maybe the custom officer just too lazy to make a report so just let you go. There is still a risk factor involved.

it really had to depends on the mood and emphasis of the custom officers sometimes. nonetheless, it is definitely an offence to bring in non-original dvd, vcd, etc. take the chances but must be mentally prepared to take any consequences if you really "sway" that day.

sometimes, we try to save a few ringgits and end up paying more in fine and invite unnessary troubles. just like illegal parking in Sgp.

Cheers

It all depends on the custom officer. If he very on the ball, then he can actually confiscate your software or charge you under infringment of the copyright law. What penalty I dun know:o However for a few pieces, most officers will not be bothered.:D

Agree. Besides the censurship issues, the DVDs are also violating the individual Intellectual Property (IP) of the flim companies. The fines for these IP violations are much more than the censurship fines I think.

The market for DVD's is almost good as gone soon! The Holiday Plaza's DVD cost RM6 to RM9. Cost to bring in altogether cost RM12 ... Its not that attractive anymore! ... The previous time I went It only cost RM9 each Minimum 20 pcs to bring in to SIngapore! Some more the quality is deterioring ... Code 9 looks like Code RED!!! I would rather rent a dvd at Singapore ... or just download from Internet! :D

Delivery charges changes depends on wind. If strong wind, then RM3. If not, then RM2. However these rates are bcos I have been giving him business for the last couple of years. He will always tell me which movie is clear and which is not. IMHO, his service really quite ok.:D
