Dear All,
This story is based on what happened during my internship back in the days. Characters here are purely fictional. Please do enjoy. Will update often as and when I have access to the computer.
I shall name myself as J for this story
Part 1
J: Hi, Good Morning Miss Zuhana (HR person in charge), I'm here to report for my internship which starts today.
Z: Oh Hi J, welcome to XXX Hotel, I'll be getting someone from the F&B department to receive you and guide you through. If you need any help pls feel free to look for me or my other colleagues.
J: Thanks, no problem
After about 5 minutes, a gentleman around mid 40s came into the HR office.
Z: J, this is Khai, our cafe manager. He's a very nice and patient guy, will guide you through your intern here. Get to learn as much as you can from him and he will be the manager you report to.
From the looks of it, Khai definitely does not look very nice and patient, but ohwell, its only my first impression, I may be wrong.
K: Come on J, lets go down to meet your other colleagues from the cafe.
We then head down to the ground level where my workplace was, it was quite a nice ambience cafe, seating capacity is about 150 pax. After going through all the formalities of table numbers and side stations, I was introduced to my fellow team members.
There were 2 guys and 2 ladies during the shift I was working. Abdul, Belinda, Catherine and Dennis.
Abdul - Young malay part timer
Belinda - Sweet looking Malaysian girl, about mid twenties, nice shapely figure.
Catherine - aged 40 plus auntie
Dennis - Around same age as me, also an intern from another school.
K- Ok ladies and gentlemen, this is J, an intern from ABC school, please guide him through and do what you guys are supposed to do. Understand?
All - OK Sir K.
K told me to mingle with the rest while he went for his break.
Dennis - *whispering* F**k this guy, work here 12 years so what? Only a cafe manager, PUI! Only know how to carry balls. All laughs. Come J, I'll teach you the ropes, I know pretty much about everything here.
The rest - Ya J, Dennis is a very hardworking and fast learner, can learn from him, hopefully you can be like him in the future.
Me - Thanks all, you guys seem a fun bunch to work with.
