Canada does not pay hostage takers no matter how loudly Robert Hall pleads.
“Canada does not and will not pay ransom to terrorists, directly or indirectly,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last week after the beheading of Canadian hostage John Ridsdel in the Philippines.
It kind of left Hall and the other hostages in an even tougher state than they were already in.
Abu Sayyaf, the al-Qaida-inspired terror group, has released a horrifying video in which Ridsdel’s killer is seen beheading him. A second video shows Robert Hall pleading with the Canadian government to intervene and save him.
Recently flying ISIS flags, Abu Sayyaf — translated into Bearer of the Sword — has been around since the mid-1980s. The terror group is demanding at least $6 million per hostage.
