He tried to get away after he was caught peeping at a woman in her flat.
When confronted, interior designer Koong Kin Cheong became agitated and assaulted the woman, 20, her brother, 19, and their parents before fleeing the scene.
Still reeling from the attack, the woman was attending to her injured mother, 54, when Koong suddenly returned and molested her, groping her body.
The woman and her family members cannot be named to protect her identity.
Koong, 35, was jailed for 10 months and two weeks, and ordered to receive three strokes of the cane yesterday.
The married man, who has two young children, pleaded guilty to an outrage of modesty charge and three counts of voluntarily causing hurt. Two assault charges involving the young woman and her brother were taken into consideration.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Jason Nim said that Koong was at the family's flat in the central part of Singapore at around 2.30am on May 28, 2014, after a drinking session with some friends earlier
The woman was using a computer in the living room when she spotted him peeping through the windows from the corridor.
She shouted at him and her cries woke up her family members.
Koong ran away and tried to hide among some clothes racks along the corridor.
But the woman's father, 55, saw him and asked what he was doing there. Koong lied, claiming he was looking for a friend.
But his cover was blown when the woman came forward with her mother and confirmed that he had peeped into their flat.
The father asked his son to join the others at the corridor while he went back to his flat to call the police.
The woman continued to confront Koong, who became agitated and tried to flee.
When she blocked his way, he slapped her cheek once, causing her to stumble. She recovered and he slapped her again.
The woman's mother tried to shield her from the attack and ended up getting punched on the head. She suffered a cut on her head when she fell against the clothes racks.
Hearing the commotion, her husband rushed to the corridor and tried to protect the two women.
When the son tried to hold his father back, Koong punched the teenager once on his head.
The interior designer then punched the father's forehead and kicked his left thigh.
The family decided to return to their flat to seek refuge.
As they were trying to get away, Koong kicked the young woman's back twice, causing her to fall.
DPP Nim said: "The accused was in the midst of fleeing the scene when he suddenly turned back, went behind (the young woman), grabbed both her breasts.
"She tried to resist the attack by struggling and trying to prise his hands off, but the accused was too strong."

Koong released her later and ran away.
The family went to Tan Tock Seng Hospital at around 11.10pm the next day, where they were treated for their injuries.
In his mitigation, Koong's lawyer, Mr Edmund Wong, told District Judge Jasvender Kaur that his client, who lived in the same block as his victims, was on his way home, but ended up on the wrong floor as he was drunk.
He said that Koong peeped through the windows of his victims' flat when he heard the young woman giggling as "curiosity got the better of him".
Asking the court not to impose caning on Koong, the lawyer also said that his client was truly remorseful.
But DPP Nim urged Judge Kaur to sentence Koong to between nine and 12 months' jail with caning, stressing that Koong was the aggressor.
For molesting the woman, he could have been jailed up to two years and fined or caned or receive any combination of such punishments.
For each count of voluntarily causing hurt, he could have been jailed up to two years and fined up to $5,000.
