Guess he is still more credible than the Oppositions which majority of Singaporeans aka 70% do not believe in ;)

Anyway, Singapore is not the only country with “foreigners / new citizens en masse”. Singaporeans move to other countries too.If we do not integrate the new citizens, we will never have a strong National Identity!

Furthermore, like what Mr Chan said, we sought to differentiate between a "transactional" national identity that hinges purely on the benefits of citizenship and a citizenry committed to Singapore "even when the chips are down".
