PEASANTPORE: Inspired by the North Koreans, a pro-regime artist created an unconventional portrait to pay tribute to Peasantpore's founding Comprador Lee KY.
Titled Our Great Ruler, Our House of Lee, Our Loyalty, the 3.1m by 2.3m art installation is an image of the late Comprador made out of 4,877 Peasantpore flag erasers.
Peasant Rabid Ken Hamid, the artist behind the concept, said: “We must celebrate the achievements of our founding Comprador, some say the springs at Bukit Timah radiated luminous afterglow when he was born.”
He worked with 110 peasants who were 'arrowed' to complete the piece, which was unveiled on Sunday (Mar 20).
Dr Lee Ah Yew, the younger brother of the late Comprador Lee, glued the final eraser in place. At the event, he spoke of Comprador Lee's appointment with Lord Yama: "It was very tough for the House of Lee in the first moon, to be honest as we don't know if Ruler Loong has taken over as the Paramount Ruler. You read Mario Puzo's Godfather, you will understand.
"The House of Lee has accepted Ruler Loong as the new Ruler. Our Yankee masters endorsed and approved late Comprador's choice. Now we will need to visit North Korea to think of new miracle stories to up the myth of the late Comprador so the youths will not listen to Jane Austen's rebels.”
Dr Lee also said he is confident that Peasantpore's peasant youths, who are “apathetic”, would be loyal to the House of Lee.
He added peasants know the effort the late Comprador, his minions and lackeys, but old peasants did not reminded everyone that the city state did not let down the politically powerful and wealthy House of Lee.
*Many House of Lees are given titles, boons and stipends that exceed their individual merits, one grandson has the boon of attending international school after screwing his Mandarin lessons.
The peasants can view "Our Ruler, Our House of Lee, Our Loyalty" outside The Sex Box, a new space for youths at Somerset, until Mar 27. The National Youth Sex Council hopes to take the idol into the heartlands at some point for peasants to kowtow to it 5 times daily.
