Al Fatah Pesantren Waria, an Islamic boarding school for transgender people, has decided to continue its operations at another location following the forced closure of the school’s religious education facility last week.
The school’s director, Shinta Ratri, said that since the closure, lessons were moved to her house, where 45 students took part in religious classes every Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.
“We can’t accept the closure, and we will keep helping the students so they can keep learning,” she said.

Good news! Everyone must have the opportunity to learn about religion.
The fact that hard-liners “forbid” certain people from praying and learning the Koran is not right and civilized people must resist such uncivilized behavior. They have no right to forbid anyone from doing anything.

Try to move to where the majority of residents are Chinese-Indonesians as they are more intelligent than these hard-liners.

I really do not want the FPI polluting nice areas like Kelapa Gading with their protests.

Good! I hope they continue their services without fear of violence or intimidation by hard-line organizations that the government seems to support.
