Although Gerard Depardieu has reached his 60s, unlike his beloved red wine he shows no sign of improving with age.
The hellraising French film star has been ordered off a plane after urinating in the aisle as it was about to take off.
Depardieu, who has boasted of drinking five or six bottles of wine a day, called out ‘I need to p***, I need to p***’ as the packed flight from Paris to Dublin was preparing for take-off on Tuesday evening.

Toilet break: Actor Gerard Depardieu stood up and urinated in the aisle in front of appalled passengers on board a packed flight because the plane's toilets were closed
Cabin crew told him that because the plane was taxiing to the runway he would have to wait until they were airborne and the seat-belt signs had been turned off.
Witnesses said that the 62-year-old star of box-office successes including Cyrano de Bergerac, Jean de Florette and Green Card responded by leaving his seat, unzipping his flies and relieving himself.

Stewards informed the captain that a man was standing up causing ‘security and safety issues’.
As a result, the Air France Avro RJ85 returned to the stand and Depardieu was told to get off. Two companions also chose to leave. The plane was then cleaned before taking off almost two hours late.
A woman passenger who gave her name as Daniele told French radio: ‘Mr Depardieu, who was clearly drunk, called out to cabin crew repeatedly that he needed to “p***” as the plane was heading to the runway.

‘An air hostess told him he had to wait 15 minutes until we were in the air and he could leave his seat.
‘She told him there was nothing she could do until then and that he would have to hold it in. But he replied that he couldn’t wait, then he just stood up and urinated on the floor.’
Friends of a ‘mortified’ Depardieu gave a different version of events.
They said he insisted he was ‘absolutely not drunk’ but had been caught short and forced to urinate into an empty bottle as privately as possible.
When some spilled on the floor, they said, the actor offered to clean it up himself but the crew decided to turn round and taxi back to the terminal and have him escorted off the jet by ground crew.

The friends said: ‘No charges were brought and no fine was imposed’, and the actor was able to take the next flight to Dublin.
Depardieu was returning to Ireland for the filming of Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia, in which he plays Obelix.
Discussing his drinking habits in 2005, he said: ‘When I’m stressed, I still drink five or six bottles of wine a day.
‘When I’m relaxed, three or four, but I’m trying to cut down. You think alcohol calms you down, but you become addicted to it.’
