A 61-year-old cardboard collector elderly woman was killed after the lorry she was on was being hit by a BMW at Coller Quay, near the OUE link bridge on Saturday morning (Feb 20) 6.50am.
Her husband was also seriously injured when he fell to the ground upon impact. The elderly couple was packing cardboard at the back of the lorry before a BMW driven by a 45 year old man hit the lorry. According to reporters from Shin Min Daily News, the elderly couple has been collecting cardboard in the area every Saturday morning.
This is the second death involving cardboard collectors in February.
