SINGAPORE - A glass door shattered at the newly-opened National Gallery Singapore (NGS) on Tuesday, Dec 1, injuring one, according to local media reports.
A visitor to the gallery told The Straits Times that a man was injured and that his hand appeared to be bleeding.
In a Facebook post, NGS confirmed that the incident had occurred, and said that the affected area will be cordoned off for repair works.
"The Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery, Yan and Smoke & Mirrors remain accessible to visitors," NGS said.
The Gallery added that they are investigating the cause of the incident, and assured that it was taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of visitors.
A number of comments on the incident has appeared on Twitter, with the user on the Singapore rotation curation account (@hellofrmsg), tweeting: "Bad start to December for national gallery."
Another user, maxene, tweeted: "how can you let this happen at our national gallery geez (sic)."
