Residents were fuming after an 'unreasonable driver' at a condominium in Paya Lebar blocked the carpark's only entrance for three hours.
According to Shin Min Daily News (http://news.omy.sg/News/Local-News/story20151116-388940), police were called in after the inconsiderate driver prevented about 40 vehicles from entering the carpark because his car was blocking the entrance.
The incident that occurred at a private condominium along Jalan Bunga Rampai had lasted till after 10pm on Sunday (Nov 15).
A resident, 40-year-old Ms Chen, told the Chinese newspaper journalists that at 7.45pm, the man parked his BMW slanted across both the entrance and exit of the condo's carpark.
"Many residents could not go home and were forced to stop their cars along the road outside the condominium," she said.
Ms Chen also added that the "unreasonable driver" and his family had started renting the apartment about a year ago, and had frequent complaints fom other residents about his parking problems.
When the Shin Min reporters were at the scene, about 50 people were standing around the exit with about 40 vehicles parked outside. Six police cars were also at the scene.
The angry residents chided the driver for his selfish and arrogant behaviour.
Police spoke to the driver at the scene. He finally compromised and moved his vehicle at 10.52pm, ending the three-hour dispute.
When police tried to understand the situation, it was understood that it was related to some condo permit issues.
The culprit was a car dealer, and frequently drove many different cars into the carpark.
However, condo management only allows each resident to have two parking lots.
He had wanted to drive four cars into the carpark by driving two cars in first, removing the condo label, then pasting it on the other two cars.
It is unclear, but it is believed that this 3-hour drama was due to this issue.
