Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that the downing of a Russian Metrojet flight over Egypt's Sinai peninsula was caused by an act of terrorism.
Flight KGL9268 came down after taking off from Sharm el-Sheikh airport on Oct. 31, killing all 224 people on board.
After being briefed by the head of Russia’s security service, the FSB, Putin said Russia will find the perpetrators, and will punish them.
“The murder of our people in Sinai is among the bloodiest crimes in terms of the number of victims. We won’t wipe the tears out of our souls and hearts. This will remain with us forever. But it won’t stop us from finding and punishing the perpetrators,” Putin said.
