More Chinese flock to US to give birth to babies

The number of people who travel to the United States to give birth to their children has blown up 100 times in the past eight years in the Southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

Some 60,000 babies were born in Los Angeles so far this year to young Chinese mothers who believe a US birth certificate would promise better opportunities for their children, New Express Daily reports on Thursday.
There are also those who want to evade the one-child policy that has been in effect in China over the past three decades.
An agent that brokers "birth in America" deals says over 60 percent new parents in Guangzhou have used their service, which costs between 200,000 yuan ($32,000 USD) to 500,000 yuan per person.
Chinese central authorities have recently decided to loosen up the family planning degree to two-children per couple, but the policy doesn't seem to ease people's craving for going to America, the agents claimed.
