[Disclaimer - This may sound partisan but the points are real and
valid]
1) Based on the rhetoric of the past few days, a vote for the PAP seems like
a vote for their future whereas a vote for the opposition appears to be a vote
for YOUR future. Much of what PAP has been talkin about is putting the
opposition down, threatening and scaring voters while opposition parties have
been talking about the issues plaguing us the past decade.
2) The next election is not going to be called so. It’s only due in 2020 by
which time almost 25,000 new citizens would have been added every year. If you
vote for any opposition candidate, you can always reverse your decision if they
fail to serve you. If you vote for the PAP, you may never have the chance to
vote for the opposition again due to the population imbalance PAP is
creating.
3) For Tanjong Pagar, you waited almost 20 years to have your voice heard. A
vote for the PAP is the same as having another walkover. When will you have the
opportunity again? Can you honestly say it will be in your lifetime?
4) In the past days, we have seen many rallies and many of the opposition
camps have presented ideas for the nation to move forward even though
information to them may have been restricted. Has the PAP definitively shared
about how they would resolve overcrowding, cronyism, transportation woes, high
COEs, high healthcare costs, stressful education, etc? Or is their strategy more
of trying to convince you that your eyes, ears and brain are wrong, all that bad
feeling you have been having are wrong? Is this not insulting?
5) Do you really want governance and politics to be continually mixed? Is

6) One reason for our low birth rate could be our non family-friendly work
policies. Even the PAP candidate Ms Tin has to work during her maternity while
ESM Goh is unable to retire peacefully. If it happens at that top level, is it
not symbolic of what is happening in Singapore?
7) Our beloved country is not on the right track now and there is
overwhelming evidence for this (eg, cost of living, our brain drain, jobless
PMETs, stressed and over-worked people, even stressed and overworked children
etc). Whilst we may argue as to the reasons, we cannot deny that this is true.
Many have said that the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing
but to expect a different consequence. Do we really need our country to crash
before we realize that we were not on the right track? Do we not have a duty to
usher in more diverse views and ideas into Parliament to steady our ship?
