A true story. Just last week I met up with a business contact who is now a
new citizen and a grassroots leader. This is not news but what’s ironic to me
about this meeting was that this new citizen was eagerly telling me about his
story.

Photo opportunity with PM Lee
He was strongly encouraging me to contact my overseas contacts who may be
thinking of using Singapore as a base for their business and to use him as the
point contact for the SG government. He told me that he can arrange for the PM
to endorse these overseas businessmen by arranging for photo opportunities so
that they can use it for their PR activities. He even showed me photos stored on
his phone of 2 persons that he had brokered the photo ops for. Even better, he
had arranged for a fellow citizen from his home country for a photo op with PM
Lee and he told me that this person is now a new citizen.
Overall, what he said was that it is so easy to get PR and citizenship in
Singapore, and I can see that he is clearly using his grassroots connections to
start a business for himself by using PM Lee to leverage his own influence and
business contacts and at the same time, making a living out of this.
=> Does that not make that whoever as good as prostitute?
It is so sad to see how our country is being degraded by our PM’s
carelessness and abuse of our country’s sovereignty, and allowing the state to
be used as brokerage for foreigners. What’s even worse is that I have a
foreigner new citizen telling me, a true blue citizen, how to use the PM and his
office to leverage a business opportunity. It’s just so depressing and
demoralising to see how much the PM has degraded our
country.
