Quote:Netizens were questioning whether PAP's new face in Pasir Ris Punggol - Sun Xueling 36, should be disqualified as a new citizen of less than 10 years residency. That of course won't happen because she's Singaporean by birth and it's her husband, not her, who's a new citizen of 6 years.

However this got me interested in Ms Sun's background - it's stated she's a Director of Investment with Singapore's sovereign wealth company - Temasek Holdings. In the PAP bio-data on her it shows her service in the public sector before leaving to work in the private sector which they specifically mention (2004-2014). Interestingly this doesn't cover her current job with Temasek. So is her current job in the private or public sector?

Of course Temasek in its webbsite openly states that it's neither a statutory board or government agency. In fact it was created through a 1974 Act which empowers the creation of such companies to handle govt finances - the Ministry of Finance Act. But we all know that in essence Temasek represents the Govt - it has only 1 client - the Govt and it's headed by the PM's wife. The PM and senior members of the Govt control Temasek through their official positions. But the question is whether Temasek is or isn't a Gvot body or part of the public service?

The Constitution which is the paramount law of the land - makes clear the disqualification of certain people from becoming MPs - those holding an office of profit, which it states clearly:
