An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
It is misleading that SGs will reject non-Chinese as PM.
David Marshall (when SG was a 'fishing village') was a Jew, he was our first Chief Minister.
Don't know how much Chinese he spoke.
JBJ was Indian, and surely the Indian port workers at that time did not outnumber the Chinese.
More recently, Mango lover Michael the Eurasian Palmer was elected in SMC. What's the beef?taken
In reality, the PM position is taken up by the leader of the winning political party. So long as there is no
non-Chinese Secretary General in PAP, there will be no non-Chinese PM.
Najib is not elected PM by Malaysians. He is elected by the UMNO warlords to whom he dishes out billions
(and they are investigating where the M$2.6billion went!) and that's why they die, die, must support him.
The money trail ("Not for my personal use") leads to them.
So, all the crap about someone who needs to speak Chinese to be PM is just that - C.R.A.P.
