An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
The root cause of all the religious issues that we have today had to be attributed to the mentality of today’s PAP, in particular to Ms Grace Fu and PM Lee. They have no idea what they are talking about and had no idea of the basis of Singapore’s religious harmony.
Ms Grace Fu mentioned about crossing the red line, where is the red line? Can she draw and define the red line? Of course she can’t, because a universally accepted red line never existed in the first place.
What she is doing is simply based on her own judgement (or sole discretion, if you like), at the time of an incident, to decide whether the red line had been crossed! Putting her religious affinity aside, there is no way for everybody to be convinced with her definition. So how could everybody be convinced and willing to accept her definition?
The same with PM Lee, the issue is NOT about whether religion is a sensitive issue or not, it is really about the basis of Singapore’s racial harmony, which they have no idea at all.
When someone complained, they acted and imposed restrictions and bans. Is this what we called religious tolerance? No, it is not. In fact, this is a great example of religious intolerance.
Do you all still remember that just a decade ago, we were the envy of the World? People around the World were amazed with what we had achieved on racial and religious harmony, but today, it is almost nonexistence.
Why were we able to achieve this in the past?
This is because religious tolerance was part of the ethos of multi-ethnic Singapore! Today, we can’t! Just because some people are intolerant, rather than educating those intolerant people on the basis of racial and religious harmony in Singapore, this batch of PAP leaders simply changed the rules and started imposing restrictions, charging people, etc. So how could our religious harmony continue to exist?
Unless this batch of PAP leaders wake up their ideas and understand the basis, Singapore will be destroyed by them, and in 20 years time, there will not be a Singapore anymore! It is not difficult to extrapolate this scenario given all the problems they had created in just 1 decade.
