TAN WAH PIOW ON AMOS YEE SAGA

The solution to The Amos Yee saga lies in the hands of the prosecution. It’s simply not in the public interest to continue with the prosecution for these reasons.
Firstly, the age of Amos Yee.
Secondly, Amos needs help to further develop his potentials, while curbing his excesses. At the rate the saga is escalating, the legal system is inadvertently causing irreparable psychological damage to this obvious talent.
Thirdly, his expressions are neither a threat to national security, nor social harmony. Those offended by him need not tune in to his broadcast.
Whatever his shortcomings, Amos have rights to free expression, in the same way as society cannot legislate against people breathing in oxygen.
Why suffocate this young lad before he can blossom?
The ball is in the prosecution’s court.
If society cannot tolerate or cope with the rant of young lad, it’s the society that is sick, not Amos.
