Yet another story of hope has come to light in Singapore.

This time, it comes in the form of a managing director who is willing to set aside some of his money to help out another man, to pay for his care, The Straits Times reported today.

The Straits Times reported about the story of mentally disabled Mr Lee Guan, 61, yesterday.

Over the last 10 years, Mr Lee's brother-in-law, who is a noodle seller, has been bringing Mr Lee to work everyday. Mr Mah is forced to leave his brother-in-law in his van as he might hurt to himself at home and he makes too much noise and disturbs others at the stall.

After his story was shared by Straits Times (http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/elderly-man-left-van-mans-plight-moves-strangers-reach-o#1), 7 kind people stepped forward and offered to help. One of them was Managing director of EPL Alliance, Mr Eric Ng, 41, who decided to donate $700 a month to provide for Mr Lee's care.

Such kindred stories have been making the headlines in recent months, giving hope that there are many kind Singaporeans who are willing to reach out and help one another.
But Mr Lee's case is not the only touching story. Just yesterday, the story of a man (http://therealsingapore.com/content/republic-poly-student-buys-food-man-who-was-eating-leftovers) who was dining at Texas Chicken at Causeway Point, who saw an intellectually disabled man sitting next to him and decided to buy food for him, also touched our hearts.

A person who witnessed the incident overheard Charles saying, "Here, eat this. Do not eat the leftovers anymore."

Charles is the man from the Republic Polytechnic who carried out the kind deed.

Earlier this year, YouTube entertainer Eden Ang also shared the story of how he had lost his wallet (http://therealsingapore.com/content/local-cabbie-lends-passenger-20-after-he-forgot-bring-wallet) but how a taxi driver was willing to let him transfer the money later on and even gave him $20 for lunch.

"We arrived at my destination and to my horror, I had forgotten my wallet. Things couldn't have been worse as now I was so conscious I would come across as a person giving false praise for a free ride," Eden had said on his Facebook.

"I'm so sorry uncle, I've done the stupidest thing... I have forgotten my wallet, could I please transfer the money to you." I said. His reply was an assertive "SURE!" Without a single hint of hesitation," he added.

The taxi driver was a Mr Lim who drives the taxi SHC2915L.

Such stories coming out does indeed inspire Singaporeans to believe that there is still hope that our society is a kind one and allows us to still have faith in one another.
What small deeds can you do to make Singapore a better place?
